Is it hard to find friends ?
Wondering Why is it hard to find a friends here? I have made friends request , emails ..trying to start a friendship , or some kind of relationship with others ..but nothing .Is it because I'm Iraqi ? Maybe people are afraid to start any connection with a person living in this unstable & confusing country .
It is not that bad guys ,It is not what the media shows . True we are experiencing hard conditions but life must & will go on.When a bombed car hits a place in Baghdad , after hours you'll see a convoy of cars celebrating a weeding with music & dances . We must have hope for future cause without it there is no life .
I was living in US for awhile & found the people very nice , friendly & helpful ..but in the net it is different . don't know maybe becuase of scammers or unreal people that make them afraid ? ...don't know .
Can anybody tell me
Thanks

My son served in the military for 5 yrs and as of last March he is out.Next time I talk to him I'll have to ask him what Iraq was like when he was there.
Yes the media doesn't always show the real thing.
I had lunch with an Iraqi woman about a week ago. She has come to join her husband who's doing his Ph.D in a university nearby. They have been here since September last year and are loving every minute of their time here ( Who wouldn't? Malaysia is a food haven! )
Now, I casually asked her if she would go back to Iraq when her husband finishes his course here. The answer? "If it's possible, NO." I then probed further, "Is it really THAT bad?"
Without hesitation, she replied, "Yes, it is THAT bad. A lot of my close relatives have managed to escape and I really pity those who are still trapped there..."
She might be just lying or exaggerating, I dunno......
Anyway, here's a pic of our recent Chinese New Year get-together luncheon.
She really struggled with that pair of chopsticks. Hopefully by next Chinese New Year, she would improve She's the one on the extreme left.
P.S I'm the one right in the middle, just in case anybody asked
I delete all friends requests I get from strangers instantaneously, as I don't see any point in having a load of strangers on a list, just for the sake of it.
Speaking personally, I couldn't care less where people come from. It is their personality that counts.
Like you, I have lived in, and visited other countries, and enjoy interacting with people.
Not everybody on here has travelled, and so might only know of other countries through the medium of Fox News or similar.
I hope you get to chat to lots of people on CS
I think you just have to show your "stuff" and then people can make a decision!!
Its what life is giving you as of now
I have no problem that you are from Iraq
Its just the way youre thinking right now
If anything Im glad your here
you can keep us updated with the situation with ISIS
So from me anyway
