How is it my sent mailbox is empty?How does this occur?
Not all of them, just certain ones.
Yes, the person(s) they went to are still here.
Anyone else ever experience this?
I am talking about my Outbox only, not my Inbox.

Jokes aside...no Ken, never experienced that before.

If the mails that certain people sent to you were still in your inbox but your mails sent to them were gone, it means those people have cancelled their cs-account. And ofcourse those people would still be here till a certain period of time (or till the mods cancelled their accounts permanently).
But please let me know if there's good explanation.
No matter how good someone said that he/she has deleted his own/her own account and changed it with a new one, we can always see the truth about it.
So regarding the deletion of out box mail only, I am still at a loss as to what causes the deletion of outbox mail while still leaving the inbox mail intact.
