Oh! Most moms are working nowadays so too tired to cook at end of the day. Takeaways or fast food seem to be the solution. The easy solution...
Lack of exercise. When we were small, always go out and play unlike kids nowadays ( mine included ) stuck at home with their laptops ( yup, mine too! ) and game consoles. But then, it's no longer safe to let kids linger outside like how it used to be...just not safe anymore, sadly..
It is believed that American restaurants and other food venders throw out enough food daily to feed a lot of the starving around the world.
Thanks Ken.
We allow all our kids to stay home and be on their games for long extended hours.
Not good. Thanks Mimi.
Lets take water, Canada has more fresh water than the rest of the world combined, Canada is SO wasteful with water its beyond belief. Canada could easily supply the world with drinking water and not even miss it, but unfortunately Canada is driven by economics and you don't make money by giving something away. Its too bad because Canada could answer the prayers of a lot of people around the world.
Yes knowing our metabolism rate is a good help.
You can never go wrong on good exercise that is for sure.
City planners are another culprit...watched a documentary about the distance it takes a person without transportation to go to a grocery store to buy fruits and veggies...it is too far!!...local stores carried everything processed not fresh produce...some people have no choice but to buy convenient store foods...some country's cities are too vast...no local food shops around...dependent on cars to go anywhere...
One thing I can add is this. For every cup of rice which is 70 calories, it's duration of energy giving to our body is about an hour. I have known that the equivalent in bread is one slice and only lasts 10 minutes and hungry again.
Anyways I consume a lot of rice with a little bit of meat but so much on fruits and vegetables.
The reason so many are starving is because of war and droughts. The displacement of people who are escaping countries with corrupt leaders and finding nothing when thy get where they are going.
The solution? Peace and helping each other just like they did in the real "old" days!
Indeed how true that is my dear Lou.
Convenient store is probably only selling mostly junk although lately I see apples, bananas, and salad in their shelves.
Poor choices simply is the culprit.
And money like Twazzle said.
On my other thread one mentioned that " THE ONLY WAY TO DEAL WITH THIS IS TO SHAME THEM".
I know it's very radical and rather base to do it but are there some suggestions?
Thanks.
but a good piece of cake here and there...
it depends on how much u need and burn...
Thanks G.
We become what we eat, so they say.
How about gluten.. that's another joke it's added on our food.
I think GMO's are a problem...not much nutrients in them in comparison to the old foods/grains...but certainly we do not work harder than our previous ancestors...we are more idle...this seems to be a problem...interesting now, we see Pepsi introducing a lower sugar beverage now...seems to me that government is taking an interest in helping society with their choices...I am mixed with this idea but do think the public has a voice in what they want...too bad the government will not understand the people's uncertainty about GMO's, the hormones and antibiotics used in raising cattle and chickens for example to name a few...but it seems that we are not as active...
We become what we eat,
come here, I'll give you a hug. You're a friend of my dear Dan so we should get along don't you think? Even if you don't like Trump.
And I love Dan, one of my most respected poster here.
