An opinion for those in North America

I am seeing trends, events, and cloudy horizons. I try to view things as independent events, but I see points of potential co-joinment for some things. I remember my classes in Chaos theory and my civil engineering classes about cascade events.

I find I am growing nervous when I ponder some things and the possible long term consequences of them meshing. No one incident, event or trend is yet nameable as a cause, but I see CHANGE approaching.

Elsewhere I wrote about storing a week or more of food or water. Obviously with Texas and Oklahoma today such storage should be in water proof containers, i.e., sealed heavy weight plastic bags or cans or hermetically seled jars (i.e., home canned).

Today I would add one more advice to those who would listen. Reduce your body fat to less than 10% and become more physically fit.

I don't care if you low level treadmill, walk 10 miles every other day, or ride a bike. Just do something and lose the fat that saps your fitness.

I fear the coming changes I speculate about may also have physical elements and being fit enough to face them may generate a major personal advantage over those who are not.

My sympathies and best wishes who for medical reasons can not do much to improve themselves physically.

I am hoping I am 100% space cadet in my foreboding, but as stated, I fear we may be in for change. I can not speculate as to the nature of it, but I do grow nervous. As a timeline best guess, within 4 or 5 years.

After watching a couple of episodes of The Walking Dead I made up my mind to rather die quickly than try to survive. Surviving does not seem like fun at all...more like extended suffering. dunno
hey Ken, sounds like the predictions that guy Didi said a few weeks past...uh oh!!!! popcorn

ps: it's called the Rapture......grin
My sister lives in Texas! Also a few of my Nieaces, one nephew and a cousin is in the Dallas, Texas area. So far! They is all doing alright. I talk to my sister everyday. I have plenty of cousins in the Houston, Texas area. Which We Are Waiting to here from them.

I have a nephew in Houston, Texas. I just have heard that! They is doing okay.

PS. It's been reported by the News that: More rain is on the way

I do pray for the ones that has died. And for the ones that is still missing!...sad flower
@ Sands.

I did mention that! To my sister today. ( The guy/ men).
Angel, God did emphasize that he would not flood the earth again, I guess the first time just required too much clean-up....rolling on the floor laughing

sorry God, small attempt at humorgrin
@Sands
roll eyes Hmm! Be Nice.
Ken,

what is it? what do you think will happen? I have relatives and friends in Texas.sigh
LoL, Ekself - Darwin always rules..

You may be too young to have seen this American school days video, but I agree with the theme. I want to live to 103, pretty much whatever comes as long as my mind and body still wotk.

Ken
I do agree to that!.... A change in lifestyle. Weather!
But! So far. I'm not nervous about it. So Far!....uncertain
That should be a maximum I think for both. 3 - 5% may be more beneficial. However I am sure you know both men and women whose bellies drop down 3 to 5 inches below their waist lines, with flubber levels approaching 30% or even more of their total body mass. This advice is for them. I fear a major change is coming.

Angel I sense multiple fronts with weather being merely one aspect.

cheers
lol some people will develop health problems at 3%.... hormone problems... organ problems... especially women. Women need close to 10%...
Regarding the storing food thread, what was the salt for? confused
ken
Here in Canada...we are getting fatter too...blame the internet and gaming...and the loss of physical education in the schools...but since it is colder here...you could survive better with body fat...lol...that is my excuse...

Water would be of great importance for the expected 72 hour time it would take for a response team regarding a natural disaster...food not much to worry about...unless you are diabetic...juice could help and sugar tablets in the mean time...medications I think would be important as well...but being reasonably physically fit would be ideal...less dependency on medications and type 2 diabetes (not insulin dependent)could be diminished...

Mother nature is becoming more unpredictable...who knows what will be nest...stock up folks...it maybe a bumpy ride in the years to come...laugh
I agree with this post. I've read alot of predictions from many sources going back many many years ago, and now am seeing so much of it happening these days help Those in denial are at a disadvantage; they will be unprepared and that includes emotionally crying I live by the Cascade mountainous range and I'm ready for the volcanoes to all start up.....and quakes to increase. This area with Seattle and Boeing are at risk for attack. And an EMP attack could shut down our whole, outdated, unprotected power grid. If that happens modern technology comes to a standstill and it will be a mad max scenario with marshal law coming in to place.mumbling uh oh
I say lets have another big war..sort out the population and start all over again..
Hi Ken,
It's a good thing then that I don't live in North America and will still not live there 4 or 5 years from now. grin
So with the hindsight of that experience and looking at the thousand dead of that that event, I have a suggestion for those who live in places where there is ANY chance of a Katrina or Texas type flood event, if you have an attic. Obviously the best scenario is evacuate before it is too late. If the rise of water is slow, and there is no current outside, maybe just going out the front door is the best option. But I have seen some of the Texas videos of the water level rising with fast current outside, where going up was the best option. So for that scenario, today, go to Tractor Supply, Lowes, Home Depot, even Walmart, wherever, spend $50, buy a decent size crowbar (I like Gorilla Bar brand myself) and a big heavy hammer, maybe even a sledge. Bring them home and store them forever in your attic. I hope it doesn't happen, but gee won't that be nice to have when you are trapped in your attic and the water is coming in the attic hatch?

Hi Kal. No I don't think of Krakatoa land much. You seem fit anyway, maybe need a little muscle mass and work on that cardio, but otherwise okay. laugh
@Ian, i somehow smell the 4 wifes theory behind your idea.. laugh beer
Noting NKH TV is reporting the heat deaths in India have passed 2,100 as the heat wave continues. Lessened intensity, i.e., down to 47 C temp.

I think very few readers here have ever even seen 45c, much less 50c, and would be utterly zapped if it hit their area for weeks on end.
