Aircraft. Help!
Help...For 25yrs I lived on the side of a main road which they had promised to bypass within a year of our moving in.
It was horrific, the noise, the dirt, the fumes, the accidents and fatalities etc etc
We made the most of it and concentrated on making indoors comfortable and to block out as much disruption as possible.
I then had the misfortune to find myself living in the flight path of a fast growing airport.
My house now has a buyer and for health reasons I can't move where I'd planned to.
The air traffic has increased 15 fold according to reports I found on the internet but we no longer seem to be getting them flying over.
I managed to find a little comment saying that they'd re-routed the traffic in order to have less impact on the new building close by. Thousands of houses being built.
My question is. Once the building programme is over and all new houses are sold will they reinstate the old flight path.
I'd really like to stay here. It's a great place to be and I won't handle a move very well.
Thanks for reading this my friends.

Just my thinking, can you contact your local County Council/planning authority and ask them? If they don't get back to you, is there a local politician who could find out more for you?
Hope it works out for you, if you like your home, it must be hard moving.
I've done that and they know nothing but said to ring the Civil Aviation Authority which I've done and they don't get back.
I've just realised that the aircraft take off under one District Council and fly over another so I'll try the other Council.
We have Ben Bradshaw here and he's brilliant so I'll contact him also. Thanks for taking the time to help.
Then flights appeared to be re-routed and I had a bit of traffic going over my house. I found it a little unsettling - I felt vulnerable as the noise increased the nearer the aircraft got to my house, like they were going to land on it.
After 7/7 it all stopped. I think aircraft were re-routed again so that planes were approaching and leaving the airport over the sea. I'm guessing that was for security reasons and to avoid any local villages potentially becoming another Lockerbie.
I don't know if that will provide any insight into why aircraft have been re-routed in your area, or whether it will provide you with any leverage to campaign for the continuation of the current situation.
The airport near me is small and only one, or two planes went over my house per day.
I'm guessing there was a link between 7/7, Lockerbie and the re-routing, because the noise all stopped after 7/7. I guess there were few issues, given the alternative route via the coast.
I wonder if anyone would be open about future changes in your area, or whether there's a deal with the property developers to keep schtum until everything's sold.
she goes 'never experienced this your house is ACTUALLY shaking!'
you guessed it! A military Chinook as hovering overhead.
Later we. laughed but at the time......
oh well such is life, sometimes:D
It would seem so!
loveallnite
Shouldn't that be 'trytoloveallnite'.
Well the ground definitely moved for her anyway!
and after we just laughed.
I hope you find a solution, moving is very stressing to many I know.
Best Regards
Six huge radial piston engines.
PLUS...four jet engines.
Yes. TEN engines. On ONE airplane.
(Six turnin' & four burnin'.)
I've never seen/heard one of those take off.
It must've been thunderous!
I'll be careful what I say. Aren't I always??
The Concorde used to fly out of our local airport. Our airport has a very long runway.
A beauty to behold. I never minded that glorious flight. Such a shame it had such a disastrous retirement.
How strange that they didn't reroute until the new houses were built. The craft always flew over the city.
That's such an important story. My fear is that the Developers have some pact with the Airport to keep things sweet until all the houses are sold.
Developers have such power.
You've been really helpful and I'll be taking your advice and contacting said people.
Dont worry,it's an Aussie flight.
