Just found a pair of his socks and a shirt

There's a saying that you always leave something in a place if you want to return. So much for that saying.

So what do I do with them? Post them on, ritually burn them, or just dump them in the garbage?

Just go by how you feel, to know what to do, Mother... I remember hard breakups and a few days afterwards, going through the laundry and catching the scent of her perfume on the shirt that I was wearing during the last time we saw each other... I would hang-up the articles of clothing and wait for the scent to vanish, before washing them. Took months sometimes.
