"ALYDAR"....(3/23/1975---11/15/1990)

This is The Sad Story Of A very Famous Race Horse..Who Never Won The Most Important Races Of his Career
"Alydar" Was Chestnut Colt Who Made it To The "Kentucky Derby".."The Preakness"..And "The Belmont Stakes" Back In 1978
It Was "Alydar" Who Finished 2nd To "Affirmed" In The Kentucky Derby By A Length And A Half
It Was "Alydar" Who Finished 2nd To" Affirmed " In The "Preakness"..This Time By A Neck.(In A Longer Race)
And In The Longest Race Of The Three..It Was "Alydar" Who Finished 2nd Once Again To "Affirmed"..This Time Only By A Head
Alydar Gave All He Had In Those Races...And For That He Will Always Be Remembered As The Best Race Horse There Ever Was Who Never Won Any Of The Most Important Races
The 3rd Race Is A Classic..One of The Most Thrilling Horse Races In History
And What Did "Alydar" Get Out Of It For All he Did?
On Nov 13th 1990.."Alydar" Was (Found) In His Stall With A Broken Leg
They Attemted Surgery..But To No Avail
"Alydar Was Put To Sleep On The 15th Of Nov 1990
To Make This Story Short..In The Late 1990s.There was An Investigation And Eventually A Trial
Seems The owners Were In Dire Straits For money
And With That..It All Came Out
In The End The Sad Ending Was
While "Alydar" Was In His Stall..a Rope Was tied to His Leg That Was Attached To A Truck..They took off An snapped "Alydars" Leg
They Did it For The Insurance Money
As Harold Kipp(The night Watchman) Said in Court.."5 Days before That fateful Tuesday..He was told to Take The 13th Off(The day The Leg Was Broken)
John Lundy Was Convicted Of Fraud And served 4 Years in Prison
Gary Matthews Was Convicted Also And Served 21 Months In Prison

"Alydar" Was A Great Race Horse And Didnt Deserve What They Did to Him.... "Alydar" Was Murdered...And All For greed And For money..Plain And Simple

"Alydar" Lost The "Kentucky Derby".."The Preakness" And "The Belmont Stakes" By Less Than 2 Lengths Combined For All 3 Races

He May Have been 2nd Each Time
"But "Alydar" Tried Harder And Will Always be Remembered As The Greatest 2nd Place Horse In History

(If I Knew How To Put Those 3 Races Up Here..I Would)..But I Dont Know How)..If Someone Could..It Would be Appreciated..

Rest In Peace "Alydar"..You Were A Great Horse..........detective
