I have lived in the south almost two years, now.

I have not been asked on a date the whole time I have been here.one guy asked my daughter if I was single but I did not want another "alcoholic" in my life. He never asked me...but, I assumed in the South, men were more friendly....could be wrong....hmmm. Not really lonely- I am comfortable with being by myself. I think it's definitely harder to date after fifty.

Hi Calliopesgirl,

Why not meet them halfway and ask them out on a date? Only the nice ones that you like of course! Just in case they're scared to approach you and feel surplus to requirements!cheers

Try Applebee's if they have one near you. Have a seat at the bar. You can have any type of drink alcohol or not, and an appetizer. Their bars are u-shaped, and social interaction comes very easily because of that setup. Really, try it a few times and see if you don't make a friend! I've seen it happen often.

Hello Calliopesgirlwave I have no expectation on dating sites anymore, have met some real losers,doh But do enjoy the blogs, and chatting with people from around the world,yay For the last half year or so, I been getting out more, helping a charity, doing some volunteer work, going out for coffee more,yay Met some nice women,enjoying myself, yay

Yes it can be difficult to date after a certain age...just go to places that you enjoy and you will be surrounded by those with similar interests...wine

Thanks you guys...I guess I am just a little "blue" today...I don't go to bars but Lou Lou...you are right. I think I will do the things I like. I have been wanting g to do some more stuff pretty soon. Right now its so hot here ugh!!! We are going to the water park soon, I hope. And ride my horses more in the fall.

Me also; but on the other hand, I don’t think it’s a case of when you get to a certain age the gates start to close ……… No, it’s just that as you get older you tend to be a little more confident or specific with your requirements, which makes the younger ones maybe a little more indefinite ………
