Our world 2065...?

How do you 1) imagine this world to be for our grand children's children...considering global warming, the role of technology, scarcity of space, existing resources and water, a very volatile economic and political environment world wide... and 2) do you think our current young people are really prepared enough for future challenges?

If you consider computers only started to enter the workplace in the late 80's and mobile phones were in their infancy, we have adapted to the technological revolution.

Admittedly those that control the economic environment have made (and continue to make) a mess of the system. The same can be said for governments. This in my view is due to the greed of individuals overlooking the needs of the populace.

The future challenges faced by young people will be overcome as they adapt to the changing environment similarly as we ourselves have adapted.
In 2043 an asteroid will destroy the moon. Many lunar fragments will rain down on the Earth causing huge tidal waves and earthquakes and dust clouds blocking the sun. By 2046 most of humanity (and many plant and animal species) will have died in the cold and famines that followed. Although the sky will begin clearing in 2052, by then there will be fewer than 10,000 humans left on the entire planet. In many ways their lives will be fairly easy as they will have inherited the technology existing at the beginning of the catastrophe and they will be so scattered the competition for resources will be very slight. Although everyone will have plenty of oil and gasoline a lot of humanities time will be spent planting and attempting to raise enough green plants to replace some of the atmosphere that was ripped away by the collisions with lunar rock. By 2060 it will have been confirmed that without the moon not only had many much of the land mass sunk into the sea due to the lack of tides, but also Earth's orbit had changed as well as the other planets. New longer years had begun. In 2064 it was agreed by the survivors that an attempt would be made to place much of humanities history and knowledge on glass pages which would be launched into deep space in a rocket with a beacon on it, so that maybe some future spacefaring race would perhaps find it and learn that Earth once both existed and also held people. Inside 10 years it is believed the new orbit would have the Earth too close to the sun for humanity to survive and also coming close to Mars in the winter. In 2065 the last 800 survivors watched the rocket lift off, then after a night of partying and revelry and good will they all drank poison.
Times have always changed and were always challenging. Look at wars, pests, etc. and still we are around.

We all have adapted and tried to improve things (not always successful) and I think the next generation will try to do the same.
Ken

in 2028 an asteroid will hit planet Earth/then NASA was forced by governmet to say contrayconfused
By then I expect the concepts of honest hard work and social discipline will be irrelevant and replaced by automation and the machines.

I expect in 2065 people in developed countries will be paid to exist and 98% of jobs will be spurious 'top-up' incomes for the government 'wage' everyone receives. Most of these jobs will be to prevent insanity in an idle humanity redundant of purpose and faith. I believe western people are well-prepared for a increasingly infantilised world that does not require them to function as proper adults. We're ready for a future of mickey mouse work for mickey mouse people.
Dear All

Your valuable inputs are appreciated. Yeah, what a thought...

@ Ken...not far fetched if one looks at the movements and changes in space. If the ozone layer as well as multiple areas of our planet should be erupted at once, I can only imagine the damage that will be incurred based on the movements of geographical earth plates and damage to existing infrastructure such as energy sources. The effects of the sun should be too much or too little will be devastating...hair raising when I think of this possibility... Do you think there could be another planet with a highly developed species who could manage the destruction of earth ...taken into account quantum leaps of intellectual contribution on earth that we can only start explaining now...?
Short answer. Nope. Nor would they be interested in it.

Imagine... to make space for more people, every big city will have a spaceship for those who can afford living there. Water will be extracted from the sea, purified and send to the moon to grow crops to feed the population. People will receive a micro chip manipulating our thoughts and needs, it will even help people to act more intelligently or mechanically depending on the need for that individual. 3D printing will make life easier, if we need a new heart, we print one ... Spaces such as under the sea and space will be optimised and the human species will become more fragmented, not based on who we are, but what we can afford... imagine.. wow
There is no need to send water to the moon. It has ice. Likewise teleportation seems to be on the way and should be way cheaper than clumsy rockets.
Flying cars and lots, lots of women left alone after war killed most men.
