Why Doesn't Anybody Ever Help?
One of the main reasons why I started blogging, was to improve my English. Reading English is not enough. Sadly, my English did not improve in any significant way since starting to blog because nobody ever corrects my mistakes.Ok, I know that you never start a sentence with certain words like ‘and’ & ‘but’. I purposely ignore that rule because I write as I speak. However, I have many other problems with my grammar and syntax. A good vocabulary and accurate spelling is not everything.
I’m sure that I won’t bite if somebody helps me right in a nice way. Hans4711 once helped me right and he is still alive.
I don't say that we must start an English teaching campaign, but I think there may be more people around who will appreciate a little nudging from time to time.
Many thanks to Zman for correcting the heading of my blog!

She sometimes corrected my choice of words as well!
Then again, she's qualified to do so....
coz I tawks lyke this awl thee tyme
I often see people making the same mistake when they blog or comment. Sometimes I want to help them right, but I'm not always sure if I am right about them making the mistake. Even if they are wrong, I may give them another wrong. I'm not the expert either.
My goodness. What language did you try to translate with Google.
Your English is as poor as mine. We had the same teachers, remember.
I don't have a problem with the spelling. I tend to confuse the sequence of words and often use the wrong propositions. And I get my tenses all muddled up.
Have a nice day Cat...
English can be use in many different ways. Accept when you're talking business/ speaking professionally! Even when I say; Yawl! No that is not the correct way to write to. It is You all! Anyway I just be teasing.
I'm an American! But many people think that I'm from another country. They say due to the way my voice sound. I do not hardly miss a week or a month. Without someone asking me what country I am from.
Back to your blog!
I always was thinking that it was your typing error. But to me! You type English pretty well. Have you ever listen to an English program by a CD, dvd or on a website?....
Dyslexia affects slightly less than 10% of the worlds population which is a hell of a lot of people, but not all are affected very seriously. As such it must be seen as a minority. There are many more people who are not dyslexic.
maybe that's what "blogging" is all about?
Then how will I ever learn?
Are you talking about texting abbreviations?
I try to avoid all abreviations and shorthand writing, but lately I tend to use 'BTW'. I must get it out of my repertoire.
There is many types of English! American English, British English, Spanish English, Asian English and so on. Just naming a few! Not all English is spoken nor written the same way...
Non natural English speakers often think I write English well, but that is because they also have problems. And I suspect my vocabulary also dazzles them a bit, hence the misconception.
I'm sure there are many people blogging for the same reason.
What did you say?!
That is a very valid point, I was schooled in UK English but my spell checker is American. But spelling is not my problem. Grammar and syntax is.
I think that should be 'awl dee tyme'
That is why I ask you!
Have you ever listen to an American English Speaking Program?___
And maybe! Just maybe. You still may not sound the same as the next person. Because everyone do not sound the same when speaking English/ grammar. Especially due to the fact! That your accent is different. Based on you're in another country. But! Bob still, not everyone sound the same in grammar. Crazy heart & I do not sound the same when we talk. And we both is speaking English! She sound better then I do. In English speaking. And she is not in America....
Don't be wiseass with me!
You can also change your Spell Checker! If you can't change it. Just ride it out!...
Bob! Just Go With The Flow.
Shay says my accent sounds almost British. How many British accents are there?
But writing does not carry an accent. It is my writing skill that I'm concerned about.
I love the English language but it just ain't what it used to be!
Yes, I can't stand it. There is someone here who uses it with so much gusto and flare, and it is irritating to say the least..
But I don't care about her so much...I don't read her blogs..only today, I was so affected by her accusations.
You have a Good One
As I said, the spelling does not bother me, but occasionally I run across a word like 'narcissistic'. Ah, got it right first time.laugh:
Repeating the word several times yesterday helped.
There are many British English Speaking, people here. Especially from Africa! Which is British English. So! As I said before. English is in different ways. So! You do you. And we do we! As long as we understand each other....
....
That is the important thing!
My mother's tongue is Afrikaans. It sounds much like Dutch.
