Drinkable Water From Toilet To Tap.
Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia, is one of the few cities in Africa where you can safely drink tap water.Though some residents still find it hard to swallow, they have been drinking the own waste since 1968. More than 25% of the water supply in Windhoek is reclaimed from municipal sewage water. In the 46 years since its inception, there had not been a single incident of bad water. The city is inhabited by 322,500 people.
Namibia is one of the driest countries in the world. The average annual rainfall is around 370mm, while the average evaporation rate is 3400mm. The nearest perennial river is 700km from the city. With its growing population, the capital faced the choice of population control or looking at alternative water sources.
While it seems not yet possible to extract edible proteins from sewage, water is a reality. Australia is looking into it and so is California. It is an expensive process, but expensive water is better than no water at all.
You have a great day out there!

Some people claim that it has medicinal value but it does not make sense to me to drink the toxins that your kidneys had labored to get out of your blood in the first place. Feeding it back just put additional stain on the kidneys.
But this is good water. It tasted good enough to me when I was there.
like that, and creates a hell of an echo.
in it."
The water that feeds into the toilet is suppose to be clean. I remember once when they were working on the water pipes, we had no water and I took a jug of water out the cistern and made coffee with it. My ex wife refused to drink it. I did not complain or help her right. It was more water for me.
Right, water under the bridge comes back and the same water will turn the mill again.
That is one of the reasons why I seldom drink water.
Africa does not have the water of North America. As a child, we often had water restrictions in summer. No watering of the garden, no car washing, no pool filling, etc. Water is a strategic resource in most of Africa.
So Singapore also recycle water. I did not know that.
People don't appreciate water until they don't have any. During my childhood and young life we had many droughts when the use of water was restricted. We have not had any serious droughts for many years now and our young people are not used to conserving water. Maybe we need another drought to get them in line.
I though Canada has all the fresh water in the world.
But then Canada has a large area. Getting the water to some places must be an equally large problem.
I Just Want To Ask!
Do you think! Bottle Water is better then water out the sink?...
That is no maybe. We are lucky in Cape Town with good water but some of the other places have really bad water.
We had (and still have) a cold winter. But the end is in sight. Where ever there is an open piece of ground, wild flowers are blooming. Spring is on us.
I cannot tell. I have had n need for bottled water and never tasted it. So far we've been lucky with good water. If it is going to stay like that, is an open question.
What are you saying about Bottle water?
" You have had need for bottle water!"
Please! Explain that statement. Sir!
Unless you drink pure rain water, every drop of liquid you take on board has probably been somewhere and through somebody.
Happy thoughts.
What I'm saying is that the water at the paces where I have been has always been of good enough quality to drink out the tap, and I never had any reason to buy bottled water. So, I cannot comment on bottled water.
I'm not very germ conscious and as a result don't worry too much about sea water. My experience with sea water is that a mouth full occasionally does not kill, so I will not avoid the sea for a few germs and a high concentration of sodium chloride.
And I won't be so optimistic about rain water. With all the impurities in our atmosphere, it cannot be that pure either.
Wait, this is just the beginning. In times to come, we may have to start eating ourselves.
