The Shaming of Eve
s*xual Subjugation of Women
Women have been subjugated and oppressed throughout history. We are told to deny our desires and feelings, as they are wrong or shameful. We are made to feel dirty or wrong for thinking the way we do. This "double standard" still exists.
Women were once considered chattel or property. We were the property of our father. Then, ownership was transferred to our husband at marriage. Historically, her value was placed on her virginity. If it was intact, she could get a higher bride price for her father. If she was not a virgin, her value went down and the prospective husband was not required to pay as much to the bride’s father. She was considered soiled, impure, damaged goods.
The USA was founded with a puritanical Judeo-Christian belief system. Yes, there still exists the belief of the patriarchal hierarchy, men have the power, women are second class citizens. Biblically, Eve was blamed for for the downfall of mankind and our expulsion from the Garden of Eden. But Adam ate the apple, as well. Yet, women are seen as a deceiver or temptress of man.
So, when a woman dares step out of line, by owning her sexuality and asserting her power as a human being, the reaction can be very negative. Derogatory or shaming words are meant to put a woman in her place. To shut her down and silence her.
But, when a man expresses his desires, he is seen as being a healthy human being owning his own power and sexuality.
Women are beautiful, powerful and s*xual beings. We must stand up and be proud of who we are. Enough of the double standard and staying quietly in our place.
A strong woman can be frightening or threatening to some men. If a man is strong and powerful, he is praised as a capable leader. If a woman acts the same way, she is seen as a b*tch. She may be called a lesbian, dyke or any number of derogatory words.
All the negative reactions, to a woman asserting her power, are meant to put her back in her place.
As women, we must be proud of who we are. Assert you rights as a human being. We are not inferior, less than or second class citizens. Take your place as an equal.

I consider myself a feminist as well. I am not against men nor do I male-bash. I only fight for gender rights to be equal. I already know I am equal.
Strange how this blog suddenly appeared when I was talking to someone earlier on about the very same issue. ummm...
My mother's reaction, in a similar situation, was 'never you mind'. Subject closed. I had to wait YEARS to see another.
Mothers who mock, mothers who ignore, all play their role in perpetuating our 'subjugation'.
Men r scared of Feminists. They see them as a danger to their libido. Women r a lot stronger than men. Not muscle strength but mind strength.
Sometimes they share roles.
I really pity the moslem women who are treated worse than animals by their own religion and treated as third class citizens and have to hide behind a veil .. they don't have any say even in bringing up their own kids..just wonder why do these ladies tolerate so much injustice and why stay in such a religion which preaches hatred ,intolerence , injustice and murder ....
No need to say I hit a gasket, and it was over.
Typical !
woof woof..! I need an emoticon of an obedient dog here?
In the last 23 years I have know about 5 guys, and they were all like that, and it was a totally random selection.
Again it was a totally random selection, as the guy decided he will get me come hell or high water. He didn't.
Please read my comment above.
Also, maybe you should read one of my blogs which I dedicated to MEN and their good traits.
One of the comments was to ask me if I had gone out of my mind!!!
Takes away from the real discussion.

willow your mad as a hatter .you have be laughing here . and you have good company about tonight . enjoy
Would you please clarify your statement. Why am I mad as a hatter? Because I believe women are equal? I have never male-bashed or said ALL males treat females this way. I only said those who do must stop.
But only when a man will give birth naturally and when oficially a woman will be that one who’ll require in marriage, only than I would say that a woman is equal with a man.
I see by your emoji that your words were not sincere. If you are not a chauvinistic male, then you should not feel intimidated.
Who said ALL men are pigs.
Who said ALL men are chauvinists.
Nobody is making broad sweeping statements such as ALL, ALWAYS or NEVER.
Fair enough.
I should have stated...
But my comments were directed to the "men bashers" out there.
That is what concerns me about feminist movements.....just how far should they take it?
There are some obvious logical points that need to be address with inequality.
However, when is enough equality enough?
Maybe men should get surgeries where they can start giving birth?
You wrote this blog. Maybe you can answer some of these questions I post.
You close out your blog by saying...
"As women, we must be proud of who we are. Assert you rights as a human being. We are not inferior, less than or second class citizens. Take your place as an equal."
What does that mean?
Equal to what?
Equal in what ways?
