Why is it sad? Being single is not sad at all unless you believe it is.

Mic Just proves that Ian is passing judgement on people who he really knows nothing about.

People are single for many reasons either by their own choices or otherwise.

I wonder how Ian would feel if I were to say to him what this quote says.
i did say sadly..and therefore rather than moan, which people do..which you are not, or feel sorry for yourself, also not you, I assume ?..live your life..however you have replied as is I have directed this blog directly at you..which I have not.
Ian you said "most" which would mean pretty much everyone on this site.

Don't even attempt to sugar it.

We are born alone, we die alone, each on his personal perception planet. Apparently, we live together. In fact we are alone in everything we do. However, loneliness is not given by the social condition (alone of with somebody), is just a feeling, it's just how you feel. Is a difference between being alone and feel alone. You can feel alone surrounded by family, friends, your mate, etc. or or you can feel very well being alone too, so I think all is about how we learn to open our souls and accept or not the approach(to get close) of others (same vibrations, same resonance, etc). Everything is to know and to want to get close. Giving is an art, but an art in knowing receive.
mic it's always been a contest.

All this excitement isn't good for this old heart.

What is that song "The Race Is On" or something like that.laugh

Rather be alone than lonely in a relationship!

That feeling of loneliness ~ we all experience to a greater or lesser degree; depending on the lense with which we view our world!

To be alone is either due to choice or circumstance and the same with lonely.

Some people become so comfortable with being alone, that to allow some one close isn't easy and some times never happens; we are creatures of habit and being alone, we can do, think, live, spend as we feel without including the opinion or permission as one would do with the other person if you are in a relationship.

Stats aren't always accurate, but they say (whoever they are, that around 40% and maybe more live alone in the US).

We are becoming a lonely planet - where people that are together
don't really connect on that so needed deeper level. More online friends than real friends in real life etc.

A while back I was out with some friends at a restaurant and across from us sat a couple! They were together and what should've been an enjoyable time spend together enjoying a glass of wine with dinner - they each just sat next to one one another in complete silence, no conversation or sharing!- he was busy on his cell phone and she was on her I-pad - sitting next to one another yet conversing with other people elsewhere!!! (So being social is being on social media!).

To be able to be happy with being alone and embrace your life and keep happy and busy despite being on your own is the best way to be. Should some one special enter your life - it's not out of neediness or desperation cos you're already happy on your own!! ~ but their friendship and sharing can then just be to enjoy each others company and maybe that would evolve to something more deeper and meaningful!

None of us 'is an island' or really can live that way! - and those that try to live this way, I'm sure don't really want to live like this forever. We are social creatures, we need friends, family, our parents, children, loved one,,,meeting new people! To grow, evolved / change and improve always!!!

Some people will settle with being with anybody to just avoid being alone.

It's only when you are alone, that do you discover your real self - the lacking, the areas that maybe need attention!

This is a luxury - cos most people are caught up with so much that they never get to 'be still enough' to embrace being alone ~ where there is time to do some soul searching and finding real meaning and direction and what is needed to do this going forward!
