Pumpkin Pie
Does anyone on here have a delicious pumpkin pie recipe? If so, would you please share it on here? For Thanksgiving on Thursday, I have been designated by one of my daughters to make homemade pumpkin pies! I told her I would buy a couple of pies but she was insistent that I make them from scratch! I can cook and bake but have never tried to make pumpkin pie.

My secret? (Well...the wife's if truth be known.)
Don't use a pumpkin.
Butternut or Buttercup Squash makes the BEST "pumpkin" pie.
I prefer Butternut.
You suggest you will be making more than one pie.
Use both & let diners decide which variant is better. That'll make you look like a great chef who has great variations on great recipes.
Split & bake or steam the squash.
Scoop the cooked squash from the shell & use as you would canned pumpkin.
A good touch...set pecan halves on top of the filling, if desired.
Likely, diners will notice "something different" about the pie(s).
If you keep the "squash secret"
is just a suggestion...
is easy and tasty and on CakeClassics's video you may find some other recipes who might you like...

It is delicious and can be pleasantly spicy! Put cool whip on it when serving! Yummy for the tummy!
