GETTING SOMETHING FOR NOTHING

I work for a large retail company, and had a customer to call me over to verify a price on a pair of boots.

the boots was almost $10 dollars a pair, some associates was doing a mod change in this area and there was a label that showed $2 dollars a pair. even though I scaned and showed this customer that the boots was not for 2 dollars, they took the label and 5 pair of boots up to the register demanding them for $2 dollars a pair.

Has the economy made people to act in this way, or are they just people who want SOMETHING FOR NOTHING,

I was not raised this way,,this kind of made me sick to see grown adults act this way.

yep wenever seen it happen here too but judging by some the age group its kids that do it---i mean demand what is a know error on the tag

Even though the boots were actually $10 a pair and were marked $2 then they would had to been sold for $2 a pair.

wen If several pair of boots were marked $2 and they took five pair they would still get them for $2 each.

Look how people act when a sign may say "Take One" and people usually take a handful anyway.

I've seen people do stuff like that all the time.

A grocery store clerk in a bakery or other places giving out samples of food etc and often time some people will take a handful.

Greedy society we live in.

@ Cc,, the boots where on a peg that said $2, the boots them self was not label $2,, this is the problem the sign showed 2 the boots showed 10,,oh yes we are living in bad times.

I have seen stores, mark prices way up,then have a sale, (20, 30,40 percent off).The new sales price are higher than the original price,

Some of gimics stores use to get customers in the door can leave people with a being used feeling. And then again ,stores put up with shoplifters, rude customer....

Sure makes for a vicious

circle. Wenever, I could imagine you have some good stories about shoppers too.

well last year I went shopping had a big trolley of stuff got including 5 tin of roses roses were last I put throught and the woman at till announces for all to hear can you not read your only allowed 3 tins .I can read I said can you stack shelves because im not wanting my shopping here thank you .I just walked have not went in since .it was a shop I knew well leftv a lot of money the whole year

I've lost count of the times my supermarket has items on the shelves with a lower price than I'm charged at the checkout

with the rush of items coming from the till I don't have the time to check the price of each item as it goes through, funny how it's always in their favour

so when they do make a rare mistake & underprice something do I tell them

no I bloody don't, helps redress the balance in a small way

yes that is why I said no win situation to JJ.. we are a large retail company we make money, but for a customer to take advantage with the thought that it will not hurt them, still dose not make it right.

1to1 The stores mark things up whatever the percent off is then turn right around and mark things down again to make it appear that you are getting the 20%,30% etc off when you really aren't.

They all play the marketing game.

Wenever you would rather pay a higher price on something when it is available at a lower price?

Money is tight, few of us can shrug off a bargain and we all know retailers stick it to their suppliers and milk the buyers. Worth the try.

Then I saw it was 5 pairs of boots. That's greedy!!!
