Watching a good drama about historical lady
I watched a seri of a Japanese lady who was arranged to marry the General. cos she was originally from lower family,but she was adapted to a high prince as a way to increase her ranking. And she married the general finally. The general at that time. And cos the general was the one really control the whole Japanese political affairs, and that time the King in fact was in another city. In order not to be killed, the general pretended to be a mad guy,who often did a lot of kid's type of things, making faces, hide and see in his 30s. And the girl who was arranged to marry him, found out, the general was not mad at all, on the contrary, he was very bright.She played chess with him, and he began to love her, in fact they both began to love each other. But just so unluckily, when he began to think to be with her, he was ill very deeply. And one day he died,well, his men kept it a secret to the wife, and his mum. ONly one month after,the wife heard the news.
Sometimes,I think as high ranking people as that, they still have difficulties.

Say for example somebody place high importance on a certain thing...maybe finances/money....they can become so focused on that one particular thing that it may actually become an obsession.
If this happens, a person come become so fixated on making money that they miss the finer things that life is offering them on a day to day basis.
In addition, they may in fact become so concerned with money that they begin to worry about that money....thus creating negative feelings within themselves. This would ultimately cause them to have a unhappy life.
I could imagine high ranking people may become wrapped into money at one point or another in their lives.
Not to mention, high ranking people have a lot more weight to carry on their shoulders...usually from abnormally higher responsibilities.
There are famous people here in America who cannot just go out into public without being surrounded by many people who want to be close to them. I am not sure I could live a life like that.

And the wife found out the general was not mad person. So they began to play chess together. And that was the only time, that the general could feel to be together with a woman he liked. I think eveyone in his time would chase after his position, and power and money, you name anything, but to his position, he had to pretend to be mad. And he realized already, that was the end of his families position as a general,but keeping the Japanese king as a puppet. His family was the one in real power. The real pressure was from the provincial governors, who were rich, and had enough capital, even local troop, and the general became a governor type of role, which was very unavoidable. And he knew he didn't have enough troop or money even just two governors were in war. And plus at that time ,usa and other western army were on Japanese land.
He didn't want children with any women.Of course, he didn't love the dead wives, or other women he could take inside his palace.
He loved his 3rd wife, and he began to miss her when his mother thought to wife's background might make the general very unsafe,hence the mother in law forbid the wife to turn up in the guys' sleeping room. But the general one night could not bear it, and he walked to the wife's palalce. But still sadly, he fell ill, and one day he died.
So in a way,it is good to lead a normal but happy life.
And before, they had to bow to the King, even as a puppet, and they had to bow to the general as well. I think in a way, the lady married the end of the general's glory, or in a way, not a good timing.
It is sad that he fell ill and died...but they both had that deep spiritual connection with each other.
If for me, maybe to be with a normal guy might be more practical. Maybe not as charming guy as this general,but it is also sad that she could only lead her life with this short time of Plato's love. And that is the only sunshine for her loving life, as he passed away,there could not be more sunshine.
I want to ask,as beautiful age as the bright and elegant zither,whom she would spend her/him time with?

I think we as people have the power to lead the lives we wish. With what you said, I agree. It would be difficult to live a fairy tale life. But, if two people really love each other, I would think they could live a life close to a fairy tale.
It would boil down to what each person perceives a fairy tale life to be and finding somebody who compliments those thoughts and has the means to making it materialize each other. Each person in the relationship would need to contribute to the others' vision.
Well i think it is nice to lead a life, the man and woman want their life to be together, and much less pressure from the social position. I prefer the love in between the couple, an appreciation of each other, and a nice support and understanding of each other.
In my point of view, I would also try to make myself pretty as long as possible,it is a personal respect and a respect to the guy.Even there is not a guy now, I would like to blossom myself.
When you find your man, it will be important to look beautiful for him. Men are attracted to a woman's physical beauty....whereas a woman is attracted to a man's mind.
However....society is trying to convince women to think like men...but, women are women.
True, a lot of guys would be attracted by appearance by instinct. The general here just refused to sleep with any women, cos he knew his decendents would have difficult life. Nobody would accept a second king,the royal family in any countries, one is enough. And finally the general's family did get that result.

It is a story, and I enjoy watching the way different charactors thinking and doing. And I could see the low class at that time,they were very keen on getting rid of the general family. Cos in such a case, they could also gain more freedom by working only for the royal king, and at the same time, the western countries brought in more opportunities.
You may feel it when something shows you where every life has to go to...
But then it may be too late...
