Is it the slippery slope for Angela Merkel ?

In what has to be one of the biggest yet slowest reported news items of the week\year so far -

The mayor of Cologne has summoned police for crisis talks after about 80 women reported s*xual assaults and muggings by men on New Year's Eve,The scale of the attacks on women at the city's central railway station has shocked Germany. About 1,000 drunk and aggressive young men were involved. City police chief Wolfgang Albers called it "a completely new dimension of crime". The men were of Arab or North African appearance, he said. Women were also targeted in Hamburg. Most of the crimes reported to police were robberies.

What is particularly disturbing is that the attacks appear to have been organised. Around 1,000 young men arrived in large groups, seemingly with the specific intention of carrying out attacks on women. A volunteer policewoman was among those sexually molested.

Police in Hamburg are now reporting similar incidents on New Year's Eve in the party area of St Pauli. One politician says this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Build those walls, It seems newspapers and mass media make the best mortar.

But having said that the evidence does seem outstanding wow

organised by who and for what end,

Could it be a modern "Beer Hall Putsch" of types doh

The world is seldom what it seems my friend cheers
Non, as this occurred on New Years Eve I'd be tempted to say the mortar of the media has gone soft, why has it taken all this time to come to light doh as for who organised it & why confused as the topic is subject to such PC nobody has yet dared to put forward a theory as far as I've seen, I'm trying not to delve into the papier mache world of the net for an answer laugh beer
I am suffering from a setback of being so active on these events Z and made a vow to limit my involvement but I am so mad and angry at these events happening in the world when there is no reason to be.

I am in a meeting Z and will come back.frustrated frustrated
Perhaps its tied to the blood moon uh oh

You know it starts with a blood moon. and then the Trump-ette's sound
It says so in the online bible uh oh laugh
LJ, I've just noticed there's a forum thread on it as well, at the moment it seems people are of the mind that if they ignore it it'll go away doh wine
My question is, why being ungrateful. Is someone setting up Merkel? frustrated
Perhaps Zman, laugh
Uneducated guess make great bricks rolling on the floor laughing
Sands, Trump went about it the wrong way doh he should first have drilled for oil on his golf courses, once he became an oil producer nobody would have said a word laugh rolling on the floor laughing beer
I won't be surprised if America will have to be blamed Z.

My question is what would Merkel do now?

Leo, well maybe but I'm fairly sure you have to be alive to be considered as Chancellor in Germany laugh rolling on the floor laughing handshake
In USA it is all about "Muslimfobia"....in Germany,Sweden and Finland it is again "We have a Dream Bubble".....the only Country, that handle things in full reality is Canada, thanks to their new PM Trudeau and his cabinet, that is filled with ministers of different ethnicity.

Rolf
thank you sirhandshake
Semsu , I'm none too sure of the point you're making confused are you saying you think Canada will be immune from this dunno
Very interesting...indeed and sad as it does not sound like the Germany I visited 12 years ago. I envied them then...now dunno
Ek, same here doh my feeling is if they don't nip this in the bud all hell will break loose sigh wine
Jim, so reckon if Trump fails over there he's a contender in Germany dunno laugh rolling on the floor laughing beer
Semsu I have to agreehandshake with every word you said.
Cameron was lambasted for saying he would only take refugees from syria camps, everyone was up in arms saying he was not open enough. He helped with money in camps too and that was frowned upon. Even Clergy in England said he was not doing enough.
Well I truly hope people now see he went the right way in this anyway.
Semsu , yes along with Redex I also agree there thumbs up
Redex, that's something we were discussing over Xmas dunno the conclusion was they're not likely to want us out or to stop Brits holidaying here, the numbers wouldn't stack up for them to do that, but it could make red tape even more tricky help
Yep red tape for medical, pension transfers etc
Rso I could still holiday in Spain as it looks as if referendom was held now with tensions on imigration automatic in EU countries the Brits would vote out probably 70% but you never know.peace
Redex, I can't help thinking that when campaigning gets under way proper that incidents like the EU humans rights tribunal will pop up , remember the 10 years & millions of pounds it took to deport Capt Hook, that extremist cleric that all & sundry wanted to put on trial, the EU threw every obstacle under the sun in the way of that very mad
wow wow I agree again with you zman, that was a disgrace.
We also want to name cheese, icecream etc our own way too, and not let people in prison take vote. I do not think Cameron no matter how hard he tries will make much inrode.
See applause cheering banana a blog as been made without name calling uh oh well so fargrin wave I,m off to cook dinner zman
wave wave
That's the thing about Human Rights,
Seems some people are more humane than others, does that mean they are more human; and if so. More deserving of Human rights,
or at least first dibs on them dunno

cheers

You raise some fine questions Zman and Redex devil angel
Redex, are you allowed to call it Dinner, isn't that a region in France doh laugh rolling on the floor laughing laugh wave

"There goes the neighbourhood" laugh

laugh rolling on the floor laughing remember it well laugh rolling on the floor laughing
I'm more likely to find coal, this used to be a coal-mining area. Is coal good? My luck, it's so out of date that they'd force me to remove it all. sigh
Biff, wow you could be the only coal miner left working in the UK, all you need to do now is get the law changed so you can burn it uh oh wow rolling on the floor laughing wine
You could also try selling it to Santa.
He needs it for the bold kids laugh dunno
Non, don't forget the Scots are traditionally generous to their hosts at New Year, they pop in to drink your Scotch & give you a lump of coal in exchange professor if Biff has a monopoly on the coal she'll control all the Scotch wine laugh rolling on the floor laughing
Touché Zman,
see a bit of trilateral thinking is all it takes to join the one percenters,

Welcome to the new world order laugh
Hmm. That could be handy. Ka-ching!
zman
Such troubling news...hard to fathom why these young men would do such a thing...sad flower

It is like they are giving society the middle finger...
what would happen if Putin took over the worldguitar
zman

I am quite surprised that security checks were not properly done...here in Canada the Syrian refugees had to go through interviews and security checks...people with children were a priority...

I hope they capture the men responsible for the attacks...
