My Death ...David Bowie

Embedded image from another site

My death waits like an old roué
So confident I'll go his way
Whistle to him and the passing time
My death waits like a bible truth
At the funeral of my youth
Weep loud for that and the passing time
My death waits like a witch at night
As surely as our love is bright
Let's not think about the passing time

But what ever lies behind the door
There is nothing much to do
Angel or devil, I don't care
For in front of that door, there is you

My death waits like a beggar blind
Who sees the world through an unlit mind
Throw him a dime for the passing time
My death waits there between your thighs
Your cool fingers will close my eyes
Let's not think of that and the passing time
My death waits to allow my friends
A few good times before it ends
So let's drink to that and the passing time

My death waits there among the leaves
In magicians' mysterious sleeves
Rabbits and dogs and the passing time
My death waits there among the flowers
Where the blackest shadow, blackest shadow cowers
Let's pick lilacs for the passing time
My death waits there in a double bed
Sails of oblivion at my head
So pull up the sheets against the passing time

His passing yesterday makes me very sad. He was my favorite living musician. Only yesterday I was actually thinking of you tubing tonight because I suddenly realized it had been over a year since I had heard of him doing any new performances or releasing anything new.

He was 69 years old. The cause of death was cancer. I just learned tonight he had been battling it for over a year.

I am now wondering if my suddenly thinking of him and how I hadn't seen anything new from him was pure coincidence or had I somehow felt a tragic change in the Universe. moping

He was a very talented musician as well as a great voice. In my younger days I had been to some of his concerts and had several of his albums. His Ziggy Stardust was a classic of my youth. He was also one of those rare musicians who could walk into a music store and very well play any kind of instrument they may have in stock, from sitar to violin, from piano to guitar.

A great performer he was indeed.

Truly a sad day for me.

@Ken He just released a new album last Friday on his 69th birthday called Blackstar. He was sick for 18 months.

He was an original. He could play anything and always reinvented himself. A 4 decade career. What a rock icon he was. He'll be missed. So many favourite songs. Thanks Ziggy Stardust. RIP blues sad flower

He died of cancer. RIP

Someone said not so long ago :"...your wealth is your health."
I still believe it is opposite.
Something happened on the day he died
Spirit rose a metre and stepped aside
Somebody else took his place, and bravely cried
(I’m a blackstar, I’m a star star, I’m a blackstar)

Sorry but I cannot paste videos properly so just the link to his latest video.
