My Best Motorhomes

Thinking about an world motorhome travel I can not avoid to have some preferences.Particularly my passion is those with 4x4 engineering but it is sure that some "city" type motormoes are also great.
Without any personal experience in this type of lyfestyle I however think that I will like very much to travel with one of these models.
Despite not yet possible for me I still consider it for some more time ahead as possible for me. I hope so. It has a kind of special retirement charm and it seems to me great to be each day in different location, knowing something more about people and all about them.In reality it is all about people and culture and so many things like interesting places and ways to do almost the same things we all have to do daily. Not only then about common people but also about those special persons that does special things too.
For this type of travel I think about those city models with more simplicity too and less expensive and with good flexibility inside city streets, but it is true that some more space despite tiny can be good too.How about some differences about USA and European models?
Great forum without any special conclusive answer, but it is always interesting to think about. However in practice actually I prefer the Europeans with one or two exceptions from USA.
The links are below.Hope you like some of them too:

wave At 10 miles to the gallon of fuel, the oil Companies
love them.thumbs up
Motorhomes/RVs no way jose.

I saw a guy fill up his motorhome/RV and it cost him over $200.

No thanks.
Even the largest coachbuilt European motorhomes will do 25 to 30 mpg professor that's turbo diesel of course.
Z, the diesel pushers, are usually 32ft or more. Less than
that are Petrol V8s, which are terrible.
Pedal, yes I had a 27ft Sunsport with a 6.2 Chevy diesel, that did 18 mpg at best, equivalent all be it slightly narrower European model will do high 20's, being that bit narrower makes them much easier to drive in the UK where the minor roads can be quite narrow, pretty much all the Europeans are front wheel drive meaning you don't lose any space inside for the running gear, downside - they bog down easily in mud, I used to carry plastic tracks just in case uh oh laugh
Is this man on commission or somethinggrin
Not only fuel economy but finding a place to park one of these land yachts. In the USA most people with motorhomes go to special trailer parks when they want to stop for the night or a few days. And they aren't free. You have to pay for parking and for other services like water, electric and dumping your holding tank (think toilet). In addition you'll need to tow another vehicle like a car behind the motorhome to use to get around and leave the MH in the park.
It doesn't sound very romantic to me and it isn't a cheap way to travel. Besides that every motorhome trailer park looks like every other one.yawn
It appears most of the above replies have no clue or idea of what one can do with these special-built 4x4 small RVs.
First, you don't need an additional car, these vehicles are designed to go everywhere and fit in small spaces. Most are outfitted with 'cassette' type toilets which allow easy, clean dumping of waste. Hookups to water and electric aren't needed - the campers are self-sufficient with battery storage and often solar charging. Fill the large water tank when somewhere you can refill. Mileage, 15-25 mpg.
I've done 400,000 miles of camping in smaller-platform 4x4 campers, VW Syncro Westfalias. The beauty and serenity, and yes, romanticism of being away from it all (and hordes of people) in a forest, beach, or top of a mountain is amazing. Sitting in a paid RV 'campground' is NOT. Nor is it necessary with most of the above campers. I've paid for camp spots less than 5% of the time, there are so many places to go. Very easy to set up a hot shower in the wilderness if one thinks ahead, but some of the above campers have self-contained shower rooms with hot water. In short, don't poo-poo a concept you know nothing about!
The ultimate recreational vehicle is, in my opinion, a 2016 Western Star 5700 with a Detroit DD16 and a Eaton Fuller 10 speed transmission. 48 ft reefer behind that and you can easily become a paid tourist, if you do long haul work.
