Sands, I think Americans are more afraid of the rest of the world, than the rest of the world is afraid of the rest of the world. That is why they are so insular.

Zika is a virus sure, but there are millions of viruses out there, and I haven't caught many of them yet. And none have killed me!

If you let all these things stop you seeing the world, you will never travel.

And guess what, we are all going to die anyway. No exceptions.
I'd prefer to have some adventures and memories under my belt first .

I have to read up on how bad the Zika virus is...I know they warned pregnant women...due to possible birth defects but not sure how it would affect others...shall do a little research...but sterilizing the female mosquito sounds like a good plan...

lou, people are very stupid.....Florida doesn't want the GMO solution

people here GMO and just black out......I'm against GMO in my foods, but we're talking about a mosquito that serves no purpose in the food chain.......the females are the ones that bite, hmmmm!!!!!

I think some actually do recover from GB...but it would be scary to go through the process of paralysis...I like to move!!...being mechanically ventilated...I have worked with people who need it...not something to wish for...

I agree...rather deal with a sterilized mosquito than fear GMO...its not like it will effect our food chain...I don't get it...the economy will suffer...Brazil for starters...Summer Olympics...some athletes are told not to go...

Biff is in the south of Portugal. She will enjoy the weather and its full of English speakers. I went up north from Lisboa to Galicia. Villa do Castello, Amorosa. lovely areas, worth visiting. Its like going back in time.

As for speaking the languages of the countries I have visitied. I don't know dutch, greek or arabic. I do speak English, Spanish , and do understand Turkish even though I'm too shy to speak it.
