Writing a blog

I have to point here that all people who comment blogs are native english speakers and use often slug as a code. This makes the reading of comments almost incomprehensible for non native english speakers and this is a pity. After all this is an international site and english can be an international language but not the english slug that is killing the real language. Also the use of all these emoticons turn meanings to the category of ridiculus. And the final question is : Is there anybody serious left here ?

Welcome to blog land Niko.

I AM serious! And I do use emoticons for various reasons as I've explained in my last blog.

Sometimes just to emphasise some emotions and feelings and put a tone to the written word.

Regarding the use of abbreviations I agree as I find it hard to keep up with those myself.doh
By 'slug'....i'm guessing you mean 'slang'........
As to your last question........the answer is NO.....laugh ....
Hello nikos, welcome! Not everyone is a native English speaker. Some overuse emoticons but then we can't always get what we want. I'm serious all day at work and sometimes serious on here but that gets very boring very fast. I prefer the lighthearted blogs. There are more serious people than sane people here. We're like a bag of All Sorts.
Nik,

I'm not a native English speaker but we seem to get along fine here...don't worry too much about us non native English speaker...
laugh

and I'm dead serious too, it's just that nobody is taking me seriouslysigh
Hello Nikowave

I can be serious, but I'd rather not be unless I need or have to.

If my wave upsets you, you can give it back.
giggle ......
Listen Nikos, you'll never get anywhere with this lot on here..they own the blogs.
Don't know if you've noticed but from all the thousands of people on the CS site, it's always the same 30 or 40 people who are writing and commenting on all the blogs. Theye have got to know each other well.
Best to just leave them to it mate
Lordy robby, is it me or what... but your reply, was it a bit of a cold comment?
I guess that the commentators of every blog are a group of 20-30 same people who want just to have fun because too much serious and bored in their jobs. OK I GOT THE MESSAGE. Excuse me , I thought that blogging was a sort of private journalism , but it seems nobody has the guts to propose something interesting and really innovative here.
doh another that's looking to be entertained than entertain..next thing you'll be asking us to decide your boxers for you.

Off with you grumps, who need you anyway tongue
A lot of the bloggers here are non-native speakers, and many other of them have better English and grammar than the native speakers.

If there is something they do not understand, they ask. This is how they further improve their English.

Many have an amazing grasp of the nuances of English, and you are doing them a disservice by saying otherwise.
@baby

and there she goes bang on once more. roll eyes
The composition of a blog can be anything of your choosing, to use your example you could have chosen something interesting and really innovative, begs the question why didn't you dunno
I think Nik here is just a little concern and wants to do something good for us non native English speakers...so go easy on him pleaseprofessor

Nik, thanks for your concern, I'm sure from now on the use English slugs will be put to consideration...

Welcome to the Blogland!wine
Z,

I don't think that's necessary, please collect those slug pellets again and dump them here in this blog...I'll help sort them outlaugh
Itchy, it seemed that my blog entertained you quite well tongue
Actually I have made a lot of serious comments on many other blogs...

I don't mean this in any way as grumpy or putting you guys down in any way, but anyone joining the blogs for the first time or two gets a bit daunted due to the banter between all the regular bloggers. It's like you feel that you are reading a kind of private social group and that you don't belong.
But in actual fact, I've been well accepted..it just needs a bit of persistance.

I think Niko just felt the same as me when I first came on here, so I sympathise with him a bit.
Same when I joined too. I just jumped in the deep end and
swam. I realise I am an acquired taste(sic), but I don't take it
that seriously.
I'm not complaining about your blog Robby, I enjoyed it.
Thought you were complaining about us, reasons why I said what I did.. you kinda made it sound like we made you feel unwelcome when actually we done the opposite.

in my defence before I jumped the gun, I did ask you first about your previous comment here.
Why so serious? dunno drinking

giggle giggle giggle
laugh Yikes........super .........................sad flower
I guess Robby is right, I was expecting something serious and I fell in a club of 20-30 bloggers who have the quality to transform every discussion to a chatroom. So I will go to play chess on line, with real but unknown opponents . I feel more safe there. Chess as a game is more serious and positive than blog games...
Gosh I think Niko is gone crying

Which of you lot frightened him away flex
Thanks Molly, I could use that term on someone in the future wink

Just lost from an inferior opponent in chess , so I return in the pacifist arena where nobody wants to beat me
welcome nikos <where nobody wants to beat me> give it time, they will make you the pawn, in 'their' game of chess...........
laugh

Nik

Sometimes there are interesting blogs that have a serious purpose but some blogs are just entertaining...and yes we like to banter here...wine conversing
Niko neighbour,... and many are not using interpunction signs, i wonder why?
Don't bother, just let them be. I find it cool beeing not native english speaker, for i can get lost in translations any time it suits me.
I am serious here.
Well it seems like Niko is starting to enjoy himself.

Well done Niko...it's much more fun than chess mate! ( wow! I made a pun !! )yay
