Rats as pets

Anyone know how to keep and manage rats as a pet.ive always fancied owning one. Lost contact with a good friend and rat owner "Ally" from Tipp. Big misunderstanding. An English rat expert. Anyone

Hello. I should imagine it's the same as keeping mice. Same food etc.

But do not keep a male one with females as they breed like rabbits.laugh

I have a friend ,who raises rats as pets. He tells me of how friendly they are, and how intelligent they are..... I ve heard the same about miniature hedgehogs, quiney pigs, and miniature pigs as pets thru out the years. Well after the craze, and money ran out for the previous mentioned pets, you never hear of them again.dunno And I ll assume the same will happen for pet rats.
I m too attached to my 14 yr old toy poodle as a pet , to even think about a rat for a pet. Wish you the best there Bud,yay

Good luck with your pet rats. I think 2 or 3 would be ideal.

And you need to put a wheel in their cage as they like running.

And you can also teach them a few tricks. They are good at that.

I have some fairly tame squirrels! They are super smart! Tough to find something they can't figure a way to get into! I have a couple of wild rabbits also! thumbs up

I have some free roaming ones around my house.
Luckily I have a cat who is a very good rat catcher.

They make fabulous pets. Highly intelligent and very sociable. Ours slept in her cage at night but she spent her day sharing morning tea and meals with us. Go for it!
