Just like a boat sailing in rough seas

Yesterday, I happened to read an article in yahoo about the most dangerous country in the world that would get a bit more scarier once the elected sit this end of June. When asked who donated the big chunk of his campaign fund, he said he didn't know who did. When somebody asked to divulge the topic of the meeting with the Chinese right before election, it was said to be non political. When asked what was his plan with the Kalayaan Island, he said he is willing to give up claim if the Chinese would built a railway system in Mindanao. but now days before his term begins, he is saying he won't give up the islands but that he doesn't intend to go to war just because of those islands. then when the Americans paid a visit to him, he asked are you with us when in reality he wanted to hear an offer bigger than the one the Chinese is offering. His solution to my homeland's problem is a simpleton kind of thinking. Did it ever enter his mind that the Chinese appear to want to unseat America as the world's no. 1, having unseated Japan as no. 2 by coincidence? And did he ever think he's selling the country to whoever is the highest bidder. To think that almost all sector are accusing Mr. Trillanes of selling the islands to the Chinese! I don't have bad blood against the Chinese. After all, Chinese blood run into my body. I have great appreciation of Chinese culture and philosophies. It's just that ruling the world out of unsatisfiable greed when they have all the untapped resources in their own backyard. Upon reading the yahoo article, I felt sad. i imagine my country like a small boat sailing in rough seas, and the man oaring the boat is a proud ambitious sailor knocking on everyone's heart as someone from humble beginnings. How can that be, when he graduated in one of the exclusive school for boys whose tuition fee could be enough to feed an average family of 4 in a year?God forbid! I hate to imagine my country repeating the history of Vietnam!

The Americans moved ship loads of Christians from North Vietnam to South Vietnam then announced DMZ and started killing, killed millions of Vietnamese so though I understand boat-people suffered so much to they also suffered war before that to
Will be interesting to see what president duterte actually does...

Benigno Aquino, Duterte—a self-described “socialist” with historical ties to Philippine communists—doesn’t seem to be very keen on confronting China

On January 23, 2013, the Philippine announced that it initiated an arbitration case against China by issuing a Notification and Statement of Claim in accordance with the dispute settlement provisions of UNCLOS, particularly under Art. 287 and Annex VII. Both the Philippines and China are signatories to UNCLOS, having ratified it in 1984 and 2006 respectively.

Duterte has also expressed doubts as to the utility of the Philippines’ arbitration case against China, which has boycotted the proceedings and questioned the jurisdiction of the arbitral tribunal to oversee the South China Sea disputes. Encouraged by convivial exchanges with the incoming Philippine leadership, China recently reiterated its call on the Philippines to entirely drop the arbitration case as a sign of goodwill. After all, the verdict is expected to be released a week after Duterte officially assumes power, so technically the case could still be dropped.
