workmates

have you ever in situation with some of your workmates where you have to tell them about same thing over and over again about how and why things should be done the way it is as per SOP to get the operational running smooth?

it's very frustrating and I'm wondering was I not clear to direct them or they aren't to interest to learn more as they are comfortable as it is now with concept "don't care as long as paycheck keep coming playball "
how to build some of them to be more responsible and have the feeling of ownership when on duty?

I'm at the point of "whatever" when the manager said to me "you can't give up on them"

Yeah it happens all the time . They tell me things several times too. Maybe we should rope it in a bit with the beers and dancing girls.
Pat, if there were words or orders strategically placed on the dancing girls, would you get the hint on what you are suppose to do?
We all know sort of what to do, thats why its basically one big party. I kind of shake my head in amazement at the concrete guy, but he's finished.
Is there a job they have to finish completely themselves and if not done correctly, can they be giving a warning?

Some people simply don't care as long as the paycheck is coming and it is frustrating to work with them.

@ pat: ya, i know we know what or should do and done. i'm not trying to be the crazy monkey and nagging all the time. but when you work you choose not too or lazy to or well, later maybe..is a matter that affecting others and operational is definit. but it's been over a year in the same situation, so i must be crazy that i'm still around 'em cheers
Well, I painted a boat with another bloke the other week. He stopped each hour for a ciggy. I'll have to explain that when I invoice them, not looking forward to the static.
@KN: only verbal warning or some little punishment that are given. normally what they do is let their work contract finish and let 'em go after assessment done .
getting fired or forced to resign that already happened in some cases are caught stealing and physical attack on your mate.
I was the other bloke Pat was painting that boat with, will remember on my invoice everytime he went for a beer and no it wasnt Fosters eh mate,....
This is how we feel about womenmates too. I can relate to your frustration!
Hi fw, I would think that if people are having a temporary contract and their employment is depending on their performance that they would pull their socks up. confused
