Lost in time
Last night right after the 8pm alarm, a bunch of workers me included gathered in front of the bulletin board where our next work sked was posted. Among them were the newbies who happen to be Filipinos too. One girl said she'd beworking tomorrow because her name was on it. I told her to confirm it by telephone as tomorrow is a Saturday. And she told me that I'm wrong because it was only Thursday and tomorrow is a Friday. Then she asked another newbie if really was a Thursday and the answer was no because it was a Saturday. All 3 of us were telling a different day. I told them that today is Sept 2 and it's a Friday because it's the garbage disposal day in my danchi. It's just hard to be a newbie adjusting to different groups of co workers, different kind of work and products, and different work skeds. I just hope they stay as I was once again asked to be a translator of sort. No added pay and with quirks with my schedule but I sort of like it. I would be grateful if someone would have taken the time and introduced me to a couple of does and don'ts at work. I do try to help new colleagues as I know how difficult it can be in a new company surrounding. Good on you to help.
