"I'm 116 years and on 27 November, I'll be 117," this alert and chatty lady tells AFP in her room in Verbania, a town in northern Italy on Lake Maggiore.



And all thanks to:

"I eat two eggs a day, and that's it. And cookies. But I do not eat much because I have no teeth," she says.

Just goes to show that living healthy doesn't always guarantee you'll live longer. My childhood bestfriend's grandmother smoked 2 packs a day, ate about anything she wanted and lived to be 104 years old. She also got out and walked all the time (into everybody's business laugh ) and tended her garden.

Look she is adorable. Happy birthday to a pillar of good age and still has that beautiful smile on her face that lights the glow around her. Thanks for sharing Luke, and by the way, please read your old blog...very interesting topic you posted there.

Hi Shine, I kinda like chicken and eggs too but these days the poor chickens are pumped so full of chemicals to stimulate growth and egg production etc, that its scary. I bet she only ate free range and not battery kept.dunno
