Preparing for a date

We men have no idea what a woman goes through preparing for a date or even a simple coffee meet up, They spend time and money on hair, nails clothing that more often than not costs more than a meal and drinks, yet we assume because we men pay for the meal we expect special thanks.

We men also have a false perception on what women like or how we think they like to dress.
So the questions are:

For the men, do you think a clean shirt, having a shave, washing the back, sack and crack is enough? And how do you think women should dress for a date.

For the women, how long do you typically prepare for a date, and how much do you spend on getting dolled up?

I've done my finger nails about 4 times. I really like to cook so that's not important for me..My toe nails I do often enough...eyebrows must be done if it's a date so does my hair...usually i have what to wear....should I buy something new along with shoe and doll up as you suggest...it might cost me $15, 000 Jamaican that is about $125 us...
I keep it simple.
Map.It takes me one hour to get ready for anything!!laugh
Prof, $125 is a lot, certainly more than a meal or coffee would cost, plus all the time it takes you, hope your next date knows this.
Myhome, An hour seems reasonable compared to us men taking 5 minutes at the most.
Yep forgotten about dates, its got to be mmmmmmm years ago.

I just talk to visiting rabbits now, they blink their eyelashes for photo shot and I give carrots. laugh laugh
Map

I spend at least four hours as I do my own hair, nails etc. I don't rush off to beauty salons for any dates grin
Red, whatever you are taking, share it!, Rabbits ???
hey map,i remember you. when you lived inEngland.......didnt you make up as Father,Christmas......in marks spencers..........when i was a toddler.....???????
giggle giggle giggle wave wave ..............................rolling on the floor laughing
diova, I would not have thought you needed to prepare, but still 4 hours is a long time to spend getting ready for a date, bet you turn a few heads!
What's a date? I've never really been on one.
At least 16hrs!
And the full program....but that's just a set up if I ever get a daterolling on the floor laughing
Dear map if you read my blog you would know all about the rabbits.laugh laugh
An hour and a half tops....and no extra expense, I wear what I have in the wardrobe
Will someone ask CC out on a date please...anyone

Seri, That's nearly a full day!...Will someone please ask Seri out..anyone?

Red, I will look up your blog and prepare to be astonished and amused.

Unla, Thats reasonable, and using what you have seems cheaper than buying a new outfit for each date, just make sure its all antistatic treated and wrinkle free, you know what a cramped back seat can do to an outfit.grin
unlao/ why do you stand in the wardrobe.....???????confused rolling on the floor laughing
Who's back seat am I getting into, Map? conversing
Would you like to borrow my specs, Tru? I wear what's in my wardrobe, I don't get into it!
For me it depends on the importance of the date. but either way, I will go to trouble.

I will get the works done grin

I haven't bought new clothes for a date for a long time, but that is because I haven't been on a date in a long time crying

But yes, hours of prep will go into it, one way or the other! shimmy

I think if you like someone enough to go on a date with them (and I rarely do), then it is only right to look as best you can for that date.
map.....theres some very strange woman on here.......??????professor laugh laugh laugh
Map

I really don't think so if one have to do hair and get clothes etc...but should I not do any of the things it pretty much cost nothing...depending on the occasion
diova, Synde pragtige is nie 'n vloek its a blessing.

Unla, Mine maybe, just need to clear the bricks and old paint tins out first.

tru, Having a senior moment is nothing to be ashamed of, I had one today where I described seeing the big moon last night as seeing reindeer, but Im mad so its ok.
Prof, That's the point of this blog, to educate us males about the preparation taken for a date, even a simple one.
hey Map, has......C/C....ever offerd to send you, some of her home made cakes.......just womdered........scold scold .........its a ligering death..................rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>super hole hole
Thank you, Map blushing

Like Unla I don't go out and buy anything, I wear what's in my wardrobe. Normally, I only accept coffee dates, never dinner on a first date.

When the meeting is during the day I'll wear jeans or something casual, for the evening I always have a black number handy.

Having said all that, I haven't been on a date in ages and lately my running shoes are always ready laugh
really, but theres only me and you on here........????????uh oh uh oh angel grin
Molly, well said, However for our date I see you in a black ankle length sheer dress, ankle boots and a funky fedora, eyes done in a doe eye fashion, perhaps a hermes scarf to complete the ensemble, probably never happen though...moping
tru...My point exactly!
diova, why is it that all you hotties have not had a date for a while?, pity some eligible men are just too far away for a coffee and biltong in the park date.sigh
diova......thats a shame. your not a bad looking woman...........for your age................grin roll eyes roll eyes roll eyes rolling on the floor laughing
Map, no it won't. scold

I don't wear Hermes scarves grin
wave Map
I usually spend at least 3 hrs getting ready, and dont spend much $$. laugh
I still have clothes in my closet I've never worn...still hoping for a date laugh wine
map.i see ..Molly.......in a nunns outfit.......with a big gold cross hanging from her neck........grin
rolling on the floor laughing
hi yer......LIlth........wave wave grin
Hi Lilith, no date either? So so far we are averaging 3 or more hours on getting ready and not much in the way of new clothing being purchased.
Tru!...whose LIlth? laugh

Hiya back at you! comfort
tru, The cross around Molly's neck will be more like a very sharp axe, be afraid, be very afraid, I am quivering in my lederhosen.
It would be nice to go on a date!!laugh
Map...nope no dates in ages now..Im pretty picky wink help laugh
I can relate to Diova ...my hair is long and thick too..so takes awhile to look nice blushing
By time Im done..I just want to sleep laugh
I go bare foot everywhere but if if it's a dead cert I'm going to score it will cut and clean my toenails...
Don't want to scratch any ones back
diova, truer words have never been spoken, I think you hit the nail on the head there, we should all try harder and not make it complicated, we are still better off than the young folk who date on phones, sit across each other in a restaurant and text their date...sad
