What do you think and why? Unity on this planet of all people or not?

Heyy Johnny,

YES, Unity for all people, and lots of free drinks, pizza, service station hamburgers, popcorn and partying!

Eh, except for those people who cut me off on the freeway, and those people who pick their nose in public, and those people who use their phone's speakerphone in public, and those ladies who reject me and wont give me none, and those people who don't like me or my blogs, and those people who only take a bath once a month, and those people who eat and talk at the same time while spitting out pieces of food, and those people who don't use armpit deodorant, and those people who...
and also ...

Otherwise, Yeah! Unity for all! cheers
It's never going to happen, Johnny.

Human brings have natural warlike, greedy, hungry for power traits and characteristics which will make them forever fighting in some form or other.

The way we are over-using the earth's resources for our own benefit will probably be the reason we'll continue fighting too. That comes back to greed.

The best we can hope for is less rather than more fighting.

That sounds like a bit of a downer first thing in the morning, but I can't see things changing any time soon.

Unless an alien invasion unites us laugh
Robert...

Lets not forget about skin color, religion, wealth, country of origin....just to name a few more things that can keep everyone from jumping on the same ship...even though we are all on the same small planet.

I would hate to see what happens when some pressing moment comes up that needs to be addressed by us on a global level.

Would we compromise our planet for our own individual desires?
Molly,

Listening to the latest speech by our president-elect, I get the impression that global unity is perhaps the least on his list of concerns.

But, I think you are right. It might take aliens.
I know I should never use the word never but I will in this case.

"Never Going to happen in this lifetime".
@pretty Molly,

Now don't be so negative. I like you (you may not see that as a good thing, but anyways, I do), and Johnny's a good friend to me and he's a good friend to some driver guy and some other guy named Bert, and he visits Dolly Madison or whatever that site is called. So, that's a beginning for unity.

Think Positive. hug

Have a nice night or day, Molly and Johnny.
I gotta go for now. transport
CC....so you would be for unity?
Hi Ccincy wave

Okay, this blog is getting a little too intellectual and serious for me.

I gotta go.. really I do, them darn Refried Beans from that restaurant earlier are storming within me right now.
doh laugh
grin Thanks for your thought Robert....don't get too carried to far away with that ride you got there. laugh
I am wondering if there is actually anyone against unity...and why we do not have it?

Or, like Molly says, greed and (i would add...perhaps ignorance) drives seclusion? dunno
Johnny please read my post again.
Okay Cc. I did. But, would you be for or against unity?

From what I got from your initial post is that you won't think it will ever happen.

Unless there was another post I may have overlooked....I will check.

Sorry if I missed it.
Johnny, don't get me wrong, I am all for unity.

And I hope I am wrong in my prediction. But human beings have been fighting over women, land, resources, etc., since time began.

It would take a catastrophe to stop it, and that would be probably short term even at that.

All we can do is, each of us as individuals do our best to not be divisive.

Make love, not war love
Okay Johnny,

Not joking this time. I think what keeps people un-united is their own perceptions and thoughts, or those that are gullible enough to believe what others want them to believe.

Because if we really look deep into this world, this life.. let's say for instance, Quantum Physics. If we look at earth and people and animals and everything here. We are all made up of the same thing.

The only true difference is how we think, and that difference in itself can be a wonderful thing, discovering differences.. OR it can be a terrible thing, if those with differing thoughts feel the need to force everyone else to join in their beliefs and differing ways, or else.

So, probably the people of the world may never fully unite, but then again, I personally would never say never. This life, this world may just surprise us all someday. Who truly knows for certain?
Robert...

I totally agree with you.

In fact, I am listening to a version of the Bible on audio.

That seems to be one of the main premises of the book, telling people how to think.

Of course, religion...another reason to avoid becoming united.

doh
Time to hit the hay here.....I will be responding more tomorrow.

Thanks all for the comments and have a wonderful night/day.

wave
People different, culture different. I not for unity of all to fully mixture!
You're halucinating again Johnny.
JS

That would be lovely but there must be some reincarnation of humans in order for that to happen...Everyone would look like rabbit with the same thoughts, same colour etc..I guess there won't be any fun in that...laugh laugh laugh

I'm kidding though, it's just not possible.peace
Firstly you will have to eradicate individuality.

Luke, that beautiful song came to my mind too when I was thinking about this wine
Hello Johnny. My take personally is, it can happen, albeit very difficult and like Molly said, might take an alien to come and do it for us.

the reason it can happen is that in my family, and my village back when I was in the Philippines, unity in that unit was strong and it only took one man to lead it. Now you take the whole world factored in and yes like she said, we are by nature war like and full of greed and selfishness.

Civilization should have made us march toward unity and peace but the bigger we become, the less it is happening.

John Lennon's song was inspired by his love to Yoko and I think he meant it by heart that we can really do it. He did qualify his song by Imagine if it can happen.

CC said, not in her lifetime as well as mine of course and I do agree with her. It takes a lot of effort to do good Johnny while so little to do bad. That alone supersedes all our motives to be good and be united. Mother Teresa, and Jesus, are rarity in this world. I am trying to do good and if all of us would commit to that and do the best we can, then perhaps it is possible.

There are more wars going on now than in the previous history of man, but if you take 7 billion people and look at the record of criminality, I suppose we can say, that Good is over Evil in terms of number.

It is a dream and who knows just like what we Christian believe, maybe peace and unity is only good when we reach heaven.

Great blog Johnny
@Lindsy you posted that CC said, not in her lifetime as well as mine of course and I do agree with her.

@ Lindsy I didn't say in my lifetime.I used the word "This" they are both different.

I just wish that if someone is going to quote me that they would use my exact wording not post what they think I said.
Sorry CC, you did say in this lifetime. I do mean it as in this lifetime, too which includes my lifetime. sad flower
Dogma Religions or dogma in a Religion, that is a big reason......if we could sweep all these Religions out of our minds, our Planet could be something completely different.....we could perhaps have already colonize Mars and on the way to an other Solar system, because without a God that have to take all responsibility on his neck,we Humans have to strengthen our self and use our brain capacity more on an higher level, what for sure put evolution to work more effectively.
Hello Bene,

Thank you for your insight. Why are you not for unity?

laugh Ian...

Here I was thinking that I was over that phase when departed from the party scene back in my early '20's. rolling on the floor laughing
Prof...

Maybe it would take what you say with everyone looking the same and thinking similarly. You are right, that would be pretty boring. But, I think we could maintain unity with individuals keeping their individuality. No doubt, a tough endeavor....where there is a will, there is a way.

wave
Luke,

I understand your rational with that statement and I do agree with it to an extent. I think one way of avoiding such a difficult and perhaps undesirable action would be to appeal to everyone on this planet with universal needs and wants...with primary focus on the needs part.

I think if we all took a step back and looked at what was truly important in life...which to me is other life and our place in this vast universe...that may be a good starting spot.

If you pay attention to all the messages our music, media, tv shows, and movies are giving us....a lot of them promote this selfish type of mentality. We don't recognize it because it has become the norm.

My 2 pennies anyway....

Like your song says....maybe that is just dreaming.

BTW....great song. thumbs up

wave
SR,

Thanks for sharing your experience...with it, there truly is hope for us, as intelligent beings (or so we are told we are intelligent).

With the wars, greed, and selfishness....it often makes me wonder how life would be if we would not have added money to the equation.

Another good step in making unity possible is by making it conscious in peoples' minds and what it means.

Thanks again.

Luke hit the nail on the head laugh

I think we're more splintered than we have ever been, the more we learn about the world around us the more there is to resent or fear dunno

And all those who want unity are trying to work towards it in their own ways, either through religion or hatred of outsiders or other scary ways.

World-wide sedatives - anyone read This Perfect Day by Ira Levine? That's the way to go ... but without the rebels. sigh
Sem....

I totally agree with you when it comes to the aggregate accomplishments planet Earth could achieve as a unit.

Can you imagine, no secrets among nations...no reason for withholding anything.
All the great minds of the planet working together for the common good of humanity.
The efficiency gained from utilizing resources effectively.

...how about distribution of productivity fairly...

I don't think there would be any hunger here on Earth....I would argue it might even become a sort of paradise for all....or at minimum, a neutral but yet pleasant existence.

But...who knows. dunno

Thanks for sharing Sem....so true.

Good points Legs....and very important, in my opinion, to pay attention to.

Identifying the elements that keep us divided are the first steps in understanding and curing.

We now have the technology were each and every person on Earth has the potential of having their voices/ideas heard.

Sure, it would take a lot of time for decisions to be made, especially in the beginning....but living in an individualistic society has been around for millennia and one can argue how barbaric we still live.

Thanks Legs.

Of course, I am still dreaming. laugh
having unity in the world would be nice . but there is to much evil going on in the world. we have good and evil always fighting against each other since time began.
Robrt..
What do you really think?

Unity of mankind?

Fear God and keep his comandments?

Walk outside your door and breathe
the sweet essence of nature and
perceive the eternal nature of truth?

Who would know what you experienced
in your momentary enlightenment?

But you do have a desire born of the
stuff that binds your soul

Curse it.. love it.. Or call it a daydream
that drives you crazy..

But..

Eternity is written on a mans/womans heart

And the reason for peace and unity is not
written in the thoughts of men, but within
the eternal heart and love of God

Cafe

Amercian Poet
String and Cafe, thank you both for sharing your thoughts.

String...they say there cannot be good if there is not bad. dunno

Cafe...there has to be a foundation in many people's life, and religion that promotes love is not a bad place to be.
