Aesthetics

How important is beauty? If it is then the further question should be: what defines beauty? If we come to a reasonable definition then we should ask: who defines beauty?

For me beauty is framed by the following:
* Caring disposition. Not in a self serving way but the kind of person that steps outside of their own familiar framework to touch the heart of another.
* Gentleness. The kind that does not indicate the absence of strength but rather an abundance of it kept in abeyance.
* Synchronicity. Where moments shared speaks to the core of what matters.

So, I wonder... do aesthetics matter? If so the question should be asked: is it based on symmetry, familiarity or intrinsically?

Hello Fax. I love your own definitions of beauty and I feel the same too. smitten
This blog is food for the mind.
some time coming home from work on a Sunday morning I see the Beauty of the earth
The songs of bride the stillness around or just saying good morning to some one who pass by
the smile on one face to see a new rose.

Throughout my idiotic 20's I was blind to anything other than physical beauty, which lead to some involvements with women who, despite being total smoke shows , were kinda vapid. (though def no more than I was myself).

Looking back on it I met the potential love of my life when I was 19.
She was and is sweet, caring, principled and exceptionally funny, but she had some burns due to a childhood accident, which I couldn't look past, because I'm unevolved.
Happily she ended up with a great guy who deserves her, and she has two lil kiddies now.

I hope I get a second chance someday, but I still have more growing to do .hole
I need the characteristics you describe wrapped in a package I want to unwrap with relish devil
Ms Molly the package is as it is..
I agree with you, but unfortuantely the physical is still important in matters of "attraction".

Try as you might, you might want to be with someone with that heart of gold, but he/she can never be anything but a brother/sister.
