EC Trivia for Americans

Does YOUR state have
a) female members of it's Electoral College?
b) non-White members of it's Electoral College?
c) openly gay or transgender members of it's Electoral College?

D) in what year did your state first appoint such a person to be a member of it's Electoral College?
e) Has your state EVER had a black, Hispanic, Asian, openly Gay, or female member of it's Electoral College?

In some states the answer to those questions may be a shock given the demographics of the state. Then again, maybe not. LoL

f) do you even care?

Wow Ken, I can't even think of possibility to assess who is who in my liberal infested state of mine.

But nevertheless, I think and trust that whoever is to represent such a group has to abide by its decision, other than that I think that the representative can be sued should he or she doesn't do what is expected of him to vote for, then again, how will that be found out is something I don't have a clue.

Yes. That was the origional concept, but at lrast once the EC itself picked a terrible President (Polk) who was not the popular choice of any party
.
Today the State of Washington's EC totally ignored their popular choice (Clinton) and voted instead for everyone else. LoL

Several EC voers in other Clinton states cast wasted protest votes for Sanders instead. Again LoL

While I was trying to learn about the EC I watched a couple of videos and it seemed HC was definitely NOT flavour of the month with the Democrats. Oops.

So I half-understand the EC but I still don't understand how unpopular candidates become the official party candidate confused

Don't try to explain, I don't understand politics at all! laugh

The big winner in Washington State (a place where marijuana hhas been decrminalized) was former Secretary of State (and former Head of the Joinnt Chiefs of Staff) Colin Powell who got four EC votes there.
Did anyone here see that coming? LoL
