Dear diary..
Woke up so late..Why is it so cold outside?
Put my thick sweater on
Went to the store
A pretty woman talked
To me in the grocery
Store
She talked of salads
And recipe's for
Christmas
I smiled and noticed
The ring on her finger
We said, "Nice chatting,"
And I pushed away
With my cart
We noticed each other
Again at the checkout
Counter and she smiled
With a toss of her hair
I pretended to be at ease
And left with a cavalier
Stroll
I sat in my car waiting
For it to warm
She pulled out of her
Parking space and drove
Pass me with a glistening
Smile
How could she know what
That meant to me?

I think it's a smile saying.. "have a good long holiday".
And I could be wrong.
The poem is about a man devastated with lonliness..
