“Health Risks of o*al Sex
Long known to cause cervical cancer, the pervasive but often silent human papillomavirus (HPV) has been finding its way into women's mouths
For their part, men can get o*al HPV by performing o*al sex on a woman with vaginal HPV, with or without using a dental dam,

1. A guy gets HPV-16 through vaginal sex with an infected partner.
Condoms are the best way to prevent the spread of HPV, but because the virus can be transmitted both via bodily fluids (like ejaculate and saliva) and skin-to-skin contact (including contact between the va*ina and the scrotum), they're not 100 percent effective.

2. The infected guy receives o*al sex (protected or not) from a woman; she picks up o*al HPV-16. Or The infected guy has protected or unprotected vaginal sex with a woman, who gets cervical HPV-16.* She then has vaginal sex with a new partner, who later passes HPV- 16 back to her through o*al sex. “
Excerpts from article you can find at:

From this I gather there is no real protection. You can’t even minimize the risks because it makes no difference whether you employ protection (condoms, dental dams) or not. The best way to prevent contracting something horrible seems to be to be in a relationship, with both partners tested free of infection, and who won’t cheat on each other…ever.

I only found out about this yesterday so I’m 6 years out of date but perhaps this will also be news to some readers.
