Broken Promises

So once again our great government has broken another promise. I remember a time when Enda Kenny was on the campaign trail in Sean Mcdermott St Dublin. Enda made a promise at that time. He said he would make sure that the Magdalene Laundries on Sean Mcdermott would be turned into a place for the local community. It was proposed that part of the building be turned into a museum and the rest of the building would be used for the arts.

Now it has been found out that the government are trying to sell the building to private investor. I cannot describe how wrong this is.
Once again this shows that the Irish government no longer care for the people and no longer care what the people think.

No government do that is the reality. We just have to hope for the best or make the best of whatever is on offer teddybear
I meant no government care I get carried away at the unfairness of things but we just must make our own path good.teddybear
I know so well and normally it would be like water off a ducks back. But this is just so bad the people in this area of Dublin have been waiting for this for such a long time and now nothing.

It is an area of Dublin that needs something good to happen. But I do understand your view and I am old enough to understand. But makes me angry sigh
Yes I do understand you, by the way Dublin is a place I have been told to visit.

Anyway these days I am more hurt when someone close breaks a promise, other than that I am not adverse to going on streets with a banner.
Hi parts of Dublin are very beautiful. It is a nice place to visit. One of the best places to stand is on the Ha penny bridge in Dublin at night and look towards O'Connell bridge. The city lights up and it is a lovely view.
I will bare that in mind 1r1, I was in southern Island last year and the folk on holiday with me told me of other places to visit Dublin being one of them. thumbs up
doh doh Ireland Ireland grin
wave hi 1r1, a community project funded by the community or government?

If the government, I'd rather see the money go into heath care system which should be their top priority more so than anything else... JMO
Funded by the community and local enterprise.

I understand were you are coming from. I would rather see money invested in the health system as well. But as we both know. Funding is not reason why the health system in this country is under pressure. It is not for the lack leadership. The government are happy to over pay for consultants to tell them what to do. But will not fund the changes that are needed.

Also I have volunteered for various charities in my time and they will all tell you that funding cannot be transferred.

I don't agree. I rarely air my political views but this is just not right.
It shouldn't be a surprise....there isn't a politician alive who's interests are anything other than self.
1r1, we all have certain promises we'd like to of seen kept... in other words many of us are disappointed, yet not surprised. Watching it all week on the TV all those waiting on the long waiting list for operation... feel so sorry for those kids suffering with scoliosis, how heart breaking to watch your own suffering daily with such pain sad flower
Itchy

You are right our government fail at every level, They every fail at mathematics I found this week that they knew that B.O.I were going to build a new bank costing 140 m while selling their HQ for 50 m and still they bailed them out crazy. I also think the health service could be saved if they stopped paying for independent reports. My sister works as a nurse and it is hard to watch her come home every night so frustrated.

Ok rant over back to happy thoughts sad flower
I thought the new building was the Cental Bank, not BOI.
