What Do You Remember

From your childhood? Everyone has certain memories that stick out more than others.

Every time I see a bicycle, I am reminded of the time I tried to pass a slow moving car around a blind turn and got clobbered by an oncoming car who had no idea I was there until it was too late. Maybe I would have seen the car if I was not looking over at the car I was passing and making faces at the driver.

After getting hit, I jumped up, back on the bike and tore off like a shot afraid that I was going to get in trouble. My mom still don't know about that. Maybe one of these days I'll tell her about it.

Oh well bike stories - very soon after I learned to ride my bike (with trainer wheels) I turned down a long hill, rapidly outpaced my nanny and was soon moving at around 500 mph. Couldn't remember where the brakes were and the road curved ahead and got steeper. Fortunately open field with cows lay straight ahead and I came safely to rest in a cowpat.
Wonder any of us is still alive considering how childhood usually goes. I had a few close calls growing up, well a lot of close calls lol.
Blue skies, green grass. voices of friends laughing, Snotty noses, fear of bullies, a girl with gold curls, trips on the bus and my brother always by my side. !
Thank you for wanting to know thumbs up
Hopscotch grin

Playing out front of my house with friends on carefree hot summer days conversing
I remember adoring my grandparents, sitting in their house and my nan making me ham egg and home cooked chips and playing cards with me. Sitting on my grandads knee and him reading me stories. Going out in his car and then they would always end up bickering because they would get lost. Having sleepovers there and my nan would sing me to sleep...I have lots of lovely memories and miss my grandparents every day. This took me back so thank you wine

At age 10, staying with a school friend at her grandparent's house in a seaside village conversing

We took a rowboat out and caught so many fish!

Then I cut my foot on oyster shells as we walked back onto the shore but her grandma cooked our catch for breakfast and we were so happy grin
