"You can tell it was written by a man..."
I wrote a little book entitled, "FINDING A MATE AFTER FIFTY" as kind of a guide as to what to expect when venturing out into the dating world again after being married and then becoming single again later in life. It was was well received by all but a few people and one of them sounded rather put out by the fact that I wrote it from a man's point of view. Now my thought was this. After being asked by several women in my age group, (old enough to know better and still young enough not to care...) what are men looking for when they are looking for a companion at this time in their life, and being told that I should write a short book about it. Just something short and to the point, so I did.I included the usual words of caution about "red flags" like you might expect as well as some personal experiences of my own and some that people had shared with me, both male and female. I mainly wrote it from a man's point of view so that my lady friends could understand what most men were looking for at middle age, in a companion. The information was pretty much not gender specific.
Now I would like everyone to please understand, I enjoy the company of women. My mother was one, as well as the one wife I lived with for twenty-eight years. I have several female friends, as well as my daughter, grand-daughters, and I'm sure that you get the idea...
But I found myself on the receiving end of a sound butt chewing by some woman that took umbrage at what I had to say. All I can say is that I meant no harm, I was asked to tell the truth as I see it, from my point of view, so I did...
