Have you ever wondered....about the dynamics of tattoes, or as...

some call these, body "art"? A few tiny ones near nether areas, are probably OK. But talk to those unfortunates who have, at enormous expense, turned their skin into an advert that says, "Adolescent impulsive low self esteem stupidity can linger till advanced age, just look at me". These sad cases, once more mature, show a number of characteristics. Almost universal regret. Efforts to cover up. And increasingly, at enormous cost and generall poor cosmetic result, laser removal treatments. How many parents have tried to discourage this pathetic self abuse, when so many less toxic alternatives to identity issues exist? Try adopting the Goth lifestyle, for example. When you grow up finally, all you need to do is to ditch the clothes, and rejoin humanity. But other opinions exist on this topic. Aa.

Well I don't see it that way. I have two tattoos and I plan on getting another. And I also have very high self esteem. Getting a tattoo doesn't mean that we are bad people or anything else.. And my tattoos don't say look at me. The only time people see my one on my ankle is when I'm wearing shorts and the other one is an Phoenix coming out of the flames you can google that and it will give you the story behind it.. Have a good day..hug
Oh and one more thing my second tattoo nobody can see that one ..sigh
Back when I was a slip of a girl I was tempted to put a tiny lizard on my hip. Private viewing only, you understand.

Luckily I'm afraid of needles and pain. It would look like a Komodo dragon by now. sigh

MyH, you're braver than me!
Biff, I love them and the pain only last for a little while..You don't see the needle and if the person who is giving you one doesn't go deep into your skin you will be okay..

Years back, a former girlfriend had 4 tattoos . Little blue roses. They suited her pale complection. (didn t look to bad. Then I met an older sailor from the Canadian Navy. His tattoos were works of art.wow I was impressed, till he said to me, he d give me those tattoos in an instant if he could.confused
Sometimes fads, and crazes turn into regrets.
Here you go Biffwaiter drink pouring rolling on the floor laughing
1to1to1, I don't regret getting mine. hug

Funny, F., but sad at the same time. Human frailty. We all have it. Aa.
Aa, you can't help liking some people
The best part of "Desiderata" to paraphrase, advises, short of surrender, to strive to be on good terms with all. I am still learning. The art is long. Manyana, all. ZZZZZZ. Aa.
Can't help but admire the skill and art but that aside, when I see one on a man, for me its an instant turn off...even more so if he got them in his later years conversing

Your tattoo looks lovely on your foot.

I don't think tattoo has anything to do with one's self esteem. I never felt the need to have one because I am kinda religious.
Thank-you Pro.hug
although i didn't get my tats to put off romantic interest, i'm grateful they do.
Yes, we humans are funny. Often things among us seem to happen, and even with the 20-20 wisdom of the retrospectoscope, they may still still seem strange. Never got a tat myself, but was/am a sailor, and blacked out drunk more times than I like to be unable to recall. I've been more lucky in life than I deserve. Aa.
any good tattoo artist won't work on a drunk person if they want good results.
Now thats got to be a double or triple oxymoron- A good tattoo artist.
Pat, i almost became a tattoo artist.
I love my tats , its self expression for me and don't regret them, in fact planning my next one :)
But everyone to their own wine
wave I've never seen a man with a small one.. tattoo that is roll eyes
there normally big and loud unlike some small cute ones many women tend to get... but I suppose its about ones personal choice, even as a youngster I never liked them, and because I never did I never will.

Them on the knuckle that you mentioned... doh
what can I say whether right or wrong, but sometimes my judgemental ways do get the better of me.
