About 20 years ago, I bought three computers for my children, virus got into them and that was a very costly mistake. Since then my children and I are very careful in opening mails that are not familiar. Norton protection since then.
But it's been a long time since that happened.
How do they manage to beat virusses? -by employing the kids that write the virusses in the first place.
So how many people paid the $300 ransom? -on those figures, about 170.
Why the sum of $300? -its a bit more than a geek fixing it and a bit less than buying a new tower.
When my oldest email address got hacked and they said it'll cost me 300 to fix, I literally told them exactly what you said.
Of course we're victimized by the same corporate greed.
I don't but I figure if it's already stopped, then we're all safe.
