Good Catches
I, and I'm sure some of you do too, view other members and think, 'Yeah, they would be a good catch'Don't get me wrong, not necessarily for myself, but for somebody.
There would be both men and women on here that I would think that about.
That they should not be single and hope that the right person sees what I see in them.
Of course, the natural 'matchmakers' see these things, and actively try to find a suitable partner for them
Me, nope. I just hope somebody sees what I see in them
Of course there are the 'others' too. The ones that you recoil in horror at when you see somebody nice being lured into their web.

I agree, people should meet if they are within travelling distance of each other, if interested.
As for the others, I think there could be any combination of reasons why they are on. It is up to each individual to decide. As long as they are honest, I don't care what their status.
Plus, some people never learn.
As I said on Crazy's blog, we do seem to go for certain characteristics in a partner. But these people may not be necessarily suitable for us. It is up to us to see where the flaws in compatibility are, and learn to avoid them. Not easy, but doable.
At least you know who to avoid on here
Aa, I'm sure somebody with climb that tree and grab that ripe fruit some day.
Prof, it isn't easy. Sometimes getting to know them over a longer period of time is needed to see their true selves.
Many are not willing to make a dramatic change to their lifestyle for a partner.
So it makes these good catches harder to be caught.
At least it won't feel like your own hand
I have met in RL quite a few fantastic ladies (9?) on CS. Got along with all of them excepting 2 that could not accept that I chose not to be tied down permanently at that stage. Fortunately no permanent enemies made
I always believed there was someone for everyone, but realise I may have been living in la la land.

It's great to meet people in real life. Online is never the same, no matter how well you think you know them.

Plus I feel there is more than one for everyone
