Unfortunately all of us, men and women, have to toe the line in social and work situations. Like it or lump it
In fact women - or ladies, if you prefer, although incredibly few women are 'ladylike' these days - actually need to take life on the chin a bit more. Equality is equality. We do NOT have the right to be more foul-mouthed, obnoxious, or abrasive than men. Neither can we at the same time demand to be more protected, which it seems we do. Good grief.
The whole idea of equality was that people can react as people without stopping to think whether their reaction is gender-appropriate. The community is the community and we all have a role to play. Good manners and occasionally accepting things may be said that we don't like is part of being adults.
