Happiness is a soap bubble
we all have bubbles of happiness floating through our lives, perfect, beautiful, and lasting seconds. In the happiest lives there are lots of them but even in the saddest life they pop into existence, glimmer at us, and vanish again.Contentment, satisfaction, joy, peace, pleasure, cheerfulness, gaiety, blitheness, carefreeness, gladness, delight, good spirits, high spirits, light-heartedness, good cheer, well-being, enjoyment, even malicious glee, all last much longer
but that moment - that breathless moment when everything is exactly right in the world - and then *pop* -
they say we would die of happiness if it lasted longer because we would forget to breathe, to move, certainly to eat or drink.
Still. Nice way to go ...

Happiness doesn´t need any bubbles as it is a state of mind.
What´s happened to our boxes?
Because your life is a series of achievements through hard work, you probably get more of them than most of us. That yessss moment - and then back to working on the next project!
Oh well. Just my experience. I look for the bubbles and enjoy them and sometimes they come at the worst and darkest times for a few seconds of relief from everything. From life itself.
We'll miss you, look forward to your return. I was taking breaks away of up to 2 weeks at one point and it was great, but now that I'm back to working from home I'm checking on line every day again.
For you I suspect the bubbles find you most often when you pause on one of your walks to just take the moment and feel at one with the universe? I know it often works that way with me, walking along the Forth with the dog, she stops, I stop, and - bubble.
Sorry to hear about your car crash Biff, hope you are feeling ok.
On a different note, I know now why some parents go for peace and relaxation to work.
Love seeing you but do know you can't be around much these days
