Have Trouble Getting To Sleep?
I've noticed that folks sometimes put up a blog, mainly cuz it's late night where they are and they can't get to sleep.
This should help! Search -
YouTube Gentle Whispering ASMR
Maria (aka Gentle Whisperer) apparently is gifted with the proper vocal tones/mannerisms & such to relax people & quickly put them to sleep.
Previously, such a person would've been known as a 'crashing bore'.
Now...she's an 'internet sensation'.
Go figure.
Interesting New World in which we live, is it not.
Maria migrated to Maryland USA from Russia about ten years ago.
She intended to take courses to become an in interpreter.
She discovered her gift for boredom about 5 years ago.
It may be a great loss to the cause of World Peace that she didn't stay with her 'interpreter' plan.
I can just imagine it...
Some future World leaders are on the brink of unleashing nuclear annihilation.
Interpreter Maria is tasked with interpreting the tense negotiations...
....
And if you don't get to sleep?
Well...some of her presentations include teaching Russian or sharing Russian recipes.
No wicked bad side effects.
Worst case scenario - you learn some Russian or how to prepare a new dish.
I'll bet big pharma companies are NOT advertising on her vids!

My tenant is ideal in many ways but an insomniac and plays music to put himself to sleep. There have been nights I have got to bed at 3 in the morning and not been able to sleep because
in the absolute quiet
of 3 in the morning
I can hear, through the wall, the slightly annoying rumour of music played softly
overlaid by his snores
Not both.
YouTube What is ASMR? Gentle Whispering ASMR
It's a brief introduction...only two minutes!
I'm sure I wouldn't have to go as far as Russia to find similar
...
Tranquility reigns! .......
My charges are also extremely reasonable.
But she (and some other practitioners) have perfected boredom to an art form.
And in fairness, ASMR is more than simple boredom...
It creates an overall 'tingly' sense of warmth, well-being & relaxation.
See the 'What's ASMR?' vid in my comment above.
I heard about it and, frankly, was a bit skeptical.
I tried Maria's Russian lessons.........
If the Russian lesson doesn't knock you out...try replaying it.
As mentioned, I was a skeptic & was convinced it wouldn't work.
I was actually trying to learn to count in Russian!
Half way through the second time doing the vid...
I was down for the count...slept like the proverbial rock.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Avoid the 'Whisperer' vids at work, crazy!
Once the day's over...then try it.
Easier & cheaper than an after work happy hour, I reckon.
And...no hangover! ...
As free has brought up, there are many(!) ASMR vids out there.
The trick is to find what makes YOU feel 'tingly'. Literally!
Refer to the 'trick' described below.
I have a real thing for brainy women. So the 'Russian teacher' works for me.
It might do nothing for you.
Are you a foodie? The Russian Recipes might work for you.
Are you a shopoholic? Try the shoe salesperson.
Bibliophile? Go to the 'whispering librarian'.
For some folks, vacuum cleaner sounds trigger memories of their Mum doing housework; there are eight hour ASMR vids of vacuum cleaner sounds.
Yes. Really!
Other offerings...
Thunderstorm sounds/snowstorm sounds.
Riding on a train. Or an airplane.
Perhaps just reading a blog/blog comments by someone who drones on and on about ASMR sounds will do it.
...
Escape to a tropical island? Try a seashore/sea breeze vid.
That might be especially useful in Ireland.
Just sayin'.
You get the idea.
Here's the trick.
Preview a few different vids.
When you find one that creates a 'tingly' feeling at the back of your neck...
That's the one that'll work for you!
.......
Another advantage of ASMR sounds vs...let us say...barley pop - it won't go to one's hips...
Basic information on ASMR may be had by searching -
Wikipedia - Autonomous Median Sensory Response
As described in the article, find the sensory trigger that makes YOU 'tingle'.
And go with that...
GRIEF! If they could just come up with something for dyslexia.
BTW - There IS a dyslexia advocacy group...D.A.M. -
Mothers Against Dyslexia
I once told that to a dyslexic.
HE DIDN'T GET IT!
True story.
Present the information here, man
Well! Let me just say THIS about That.....
if you remember I brought out a blog not too long ago about ASMR, Maria being my favourite ,, I have many of her clips now on that blog.. at the time you cautioned me how earphones would be harsh on the ear drums.... despite I knew you were right and because ASMR did help me sleep, I chose to ignore your advice and the then bit of echoing/buzzing I had going on in my ears... which was then only the first thing in the morning which lasted for a short time only..eventually the echoing lasted longer so of course I gave it up, still hear the echoing/buzzing from time to time, but hopefully what damage I may of done to my hear drums will come right again given time.
Though it works/helps I would NOT recommend it to anyone, sleep for the prize of ones hearing?
need I say anymore.
That being said, I still use Maria to drift me off to sleep.....
but unlike her others and most ASMR sleepies, no earphones are needed
Stupid bloody computer
Much obliged for posting the vid, Witch!
Also for the information on earphones.
Personally, I never use the things.
Not for ASMR, nor anything else.
I suppose it's like most things.
Just gotta use some basic common sense.
The problem with common sense?
It's not all that common.
Thanks again!
