Sick as a dog. Indeed, sicker than most dogs. :)
When I went to bed last night at about 11 pm, total exhaustion had taken over. It was like I was a character in a Kafka story and got turned into a slug (rather than a cockroach ). Or perhaps my mitochondria all teamed up and went on strike.Although I RARELY ever get sick, I think perhaps I got the flu. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining. There are many people with far worse illnesses than the flu. Indeed, I am just describing things to you, not complaining.
I have no respiratory problems (yet), but persistent total exhaustion.
I wake up and 5 minutes later, I'm back to sleep. My head, back & stomach all hurt. So far, today (` 5 pm) I've only been able to eat one banana (no, not the dancing kind ). I've been drinking lots of water in an effort to flush out whatever I got and thus, have been getting up a lot to pee.
I think I went to sleep about 11 pm last night and (except for a total of about 1.5 hours) have slept until 2:50 pm this afternoon. Do the math and that's 14.5 hours. This has been the longest I've been up consecutively today. Last time I got sick was 4 years ago with something very similar, but worse. I was in bed for 3 days then and wasn't able to keep down food. True, I haven't really eaten yet. But, I'm hoping the worst is over now, but we'll see. It's only day one.
I have an important softball double header on Saturday morning and need to get well by then. I'm going to try to eat something now (perhaps soup or oatmeal. Luckily, one can't transmit the flu over the internet. :)

Feel better...

Once I get well enough to drive (which should be in less than 48 hours, seeing how I just completed hour 74 of this scourge),I will certainly pick some up for next time. I wish I had some on hand early on for this time.
While I was sleeping (most of the day), my softball coach called and left an update message. The team lost both ends of the double header. They are now 1 win and 5 lossed without me and 15 wins and 1 loss with me. We are still comfortably in first place though.
as 'normal' as I get.
