Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you have to as getting the cost back may not be possible, I wouldn't bother with a wind turbine, the smaller ones are very limited in effect.
Hi mountainman

Recently I bought a solar system and it is working pretty good ,I would upgrade it wine
you gonna need a road , wire and one phase from your electrical outletgrin

More techy humor...

Sooo...if they use sodium...will they be charged with a salt in battery?
confused

Note I said it was techy humor...not necessarily 'funny' humor. roll eyes

Mic, as you say reading about advances coming soon & being able to buy it are two different things, I'm still waiting for condensers to replace batteries, we were supposed to have that by now, 1000 times more efficient & cheaper sigh
I'm still waiting for my tabletop cold fusion do-hickey that'll throw out enough power to run an aircraft carrier, Z. mumbling

But between Goodenough's battery & The Don's Electric Wall kicking in the economics of scale...who knows? dunno

Why would someone have to produce their own electricity at home anyway?
Why?

Elementary, m'dear CC roll eyes

Because tinkering around with do it yourself/techy stuff is a Guy Thing.
And Ali's a guy.

Example -
If that Franklin guy hadn't been tinkering around with a kite & a key in a lightning storm...you wouldn't be reading this.

Really quite simple when one thinks about it, no?

Hi miclee , thank you for useful information
I am quite satisfied with the performance of my solar system handshake
I had Solar City, come in and give me a estimate. To buy and install they wanted over $65,000. I contacted the manufacturer, to buy the COMPLETE system was LESS then $25,000 ????????????AND, could install in 2 days .
