Reviving the Blogs
I have been thinking lately have things seem to be quieting down on CS; how not as many members blog or post, and how many have left. With the advent of Proficiency's blog, one of a personal and yes, controversial spiritual nature, it occured to me that perhaps others among us would like to write our thoughts in such a blog but feel this is not the appropriate forum for it, that our blog would be criticized, not understood, suffer from non-participation or worse ignored...in summation, it takes bravery to post a blog because of unspoken assumptions about what is acceptable or interesting, and what is not.
What if we gave everyone a blanket free pass to write a blog freely on things important to them or that they'd like to discuss, nothing profane or hurtful, but just allowing true creative juices to flow.
Seriously, how many really good conversations do we have going on here? What would be some good topics?
Comment freely, for in keeping with the current, I will probably delete this blog soon.....

We have to sometimes write from the heart and be genuine about what we write. It is ok to be criticised but it's a matter of how it's done.
Life is all about a balance as long as we can find a balance in blogging then all should be ok...
And many of us just don't have the time.
It is true Cs is a community but regardless we tear each other at times deep down inside we genuinely care for each other.
We have an inherent ability to show affection and also to cause hurt...No matter what wall we are against we share the common need and that is to be loved.
Yes, it definitely is a "surprising" community (behind the scenes).
Case in point when a member is in trouble or missing in action.
So many come out and post support or true, from the heart concern.
Very beautiful and heartwarming the care "virtual" strangers can show one another.
Thanks for mentioning that.
You're welcome....I like the feeling of togetherness....brings a smile to me every time.
Isn't there a Having Fun category for the blogs? lol...
Maybe if people blogged for themselves, to get their thoughts down on paper, rather for social approval, there might be more blogs.
Yes, it is great if people post on your blog, but it shouldn't be the main reason to blog. Blog for yourself, and if others join in, consider that a bonus.
Generally people are very receptive to blogs, but all people can't be receptive to all blogs. Sometimes they are just about a subject of which you have no interest, don't fully understand the theme of it, or simply one you don't want to join in on. It shouldn't be taken personally, everybody knows what they like themselves.
So blog on
It has to save itself.
There are a LOT of great people here.
But I guess, as in the real world, misunderstandings will continue to arise and change will be hard, if it happens at all.
Thanks for listening.
Molly, that is a viewpoint I totally agree with. Blog just because you want to blog. Absolutely, do it for many reasons.
But as I knew and another CSer pointed out, people try, and stuff happens to make them sorry they did.
Oh, well.
The fizz still rises to the top in my coca-cola.
And life goes on.
"It Can Be Revived"....................................
Wow
I like the way you put it, that is also another angle to look at things.
No way am I staying on here for a few years....soon as I get something to do then I'm off and away....or so I think, things do get monotonous.
Is that a book?
I think it is aimed at blogs that are looking to increase their financial bottom line.
It probably has some very good tips in it, though, for bloggers looking for content ideas.
After all, as Archie and Edith Bunker would tell you, "those were the days"...always applies...for the generation before you.
