Today's the day.

It's rainy and windy and yes I know it's only July, but I'm going to bake my Christmas cakes. Yes plural, I've nine to do, well it was nine until I went to the shops for some bits and now it's ten. So chop chop mix mix.

custom when mixing here was always everyone in house got to stir final mix and make a wish just wonder if you do same and cake tin is always same mine about 60 years old passed on to us

I knows what you mean im same ...but I has memories ,...has passed on to my kids is like a diease the cakes and puddings my kids make now and bring to me .im there tester .I scores them never as good as the mammies but I don't say that ... every chrismas I gets .....my woman a very sweet tooth and one year I cut a few slices of her own cake anw wrapped well and hid in wardrobe .in july she said to me id kill for a slice of christmaske so I went to wardrobe and opened made coffee and served to her was worth a millon pounds

Lovely idea, I wrap mine up well and freeze them till I'm ready to marzipan and ice them I do them as Christmas presents for my friends. Last year was chocolates, the year before bottles of vodka caramel that blew their minds rolling on the floor laughing

I never took to liking those fruit cakes. So There is a life time of tradition I missed out on between Christmas cake and the pudding.

Kind of ironic that I dont like fruit cakes and I hang around CS so much mumbling

Anyways consider this comment a preemptive Bahh Humbug on next Christmas mumbling
