So, yes I believe there could be life elsewhere in the universe.
Could they reach our solar system?, now that's another question entirely.....

Yes..yes. yes.
I think the question was easy only because Track if there is life elsewhere, not sentient life.
The chance of there being bacteria somewhere else is highly probable, whereas finding sentient life somewhere else is a lot less likely.
People thought nothing lived at the bottom of the deepest oceans, until someone found thermal vents and a whole other eco system we didn't think possible was discovered.
The SR-71, U2, B2 and F117 where all described as UFO's until they were made public
If I was a sentient being looking to interact with Earth I would wait until humans had wiped themselves out and the planet had started to recover from everything we have done to ourselves.
I think it is beyond most people's doubt that there are theoretically millions of other planets in the infinitessimal universe that could harbour life similar to life on Earth.
Pasta - you may open a can of worms with that statement....'never visited us'. There certainly is a massive body of thought and backed-up by a lot of research and evidence which suggests that they have....and in a pretty influential way too. Recent blogs by Stringman and Dedo have focused on this.
