Yes. But actually research shows that this doesnt just apply to women. "Good looking" men are (apparently) also more likely to be successful. Maybe its simply because looking and feeling good displays a positive self image, which brings its own rewards.
I entirely agree with your post 'How1e' in two words you said it all..
Well there would be more beautiful people ruling the world if that was the case. It is scientifically proven that physically attractiveness does help people to become successful in a lot of instances. But I would say not in every single case. As not everyone is impressed by looks and beauty.

Venus

Beauty is always admired, be it in any form. Each one of us here admire beautiful things/people. So from where I see it, I guess beauty gives u a 20% advantage. The rest 80 depends on what YOU make out of it. :)

Similarly, for the, well, average looking people, the task is just 20% tougher, not impossible. Which also means on the long run, tougher lot is the average looking ones! ;)
I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder and achievements or success are determined by one's state of mind and the will to achieve or succeed...
It should be all about what one brings to the table, not what they look like. In my personal experience, yeah maybe the good looking ones get the first chance, but its the ones with the motivation to try harder that always gets it. Ambition and drive is what is controlling the world today. Me as a person, believe that looks arent everything. I have been told I am beautiful and should have everything that I want. But I am a single parent with two children and struggle everyday. I am not exceptionalized in anyways and work very hard for what I have. So it is case dependent.
very very hilarious indeed ....rolling on the floor laughing thank you for sharing ..peace
Definitely truth for both men and women. Some studies show that tall (good looking) men and women get more promotions at work and advance easier in their careers. I guess it is easier to impress people and appear confident.
When you get accepted just by your looks, I guess you don't have to work on your other skills in order to advance but more and more really good looking people, manage to have it all working out for them. I believe that self confidence and looking after oneself can be a great compensation for not being born with a movie star looks. Sometimes, you catch yourself considering someone really, really attractive because you just love how they carry themselves and on the second look, you realize that they don't posess the clasical beauty. I know all lot of beautiful people who are not interesting to me at all. I can look at them and say "yes, they are really pretty", so what? It does boil down to being a complete and fulfilled person after all...
Heck, when you're good looking, people even let you in front of the line at the cash register! laugh That's why everyone's so obsessed with it and plastic surgeons are very rich men.
