Harvest Moon
It rose, fiery red, behind Motril, jutting out into the Mediterranean.I thought at first it must be the setting sun as it was so low in the sky, practically touching the sea, and coloured thus after a day of tanning its many worshipers on the beach and by the poolside.
But no, Motril is to the east, and even climate change hasn't made the sun set in the east.
It hung tantasingly low for several minutes before deciding to slowly rise to allow others to see it in its breathtaking new crimson coat.
The dog, normally cuddled close to me, sat alone and stared at this lunar spectacle silently and pensively.
As it rose high in the sky, it slowly undressed itself of its red ridinghood cape and stood in its naked splendour for all to admire.
Not a cloud in the sky curtained its performance.
Even the stars took a backstage role, allowing it take centre stage on its night, the night of the Harvest Moon.
