Why do we say "the truth will set you free" ?
And yet when you tell someone the truth they prefer to hear a big fat lie?

I like knowing where I stand, I like saying what's on my mind, and if people want to hear comforting lies, guess that promising friendship isn't going to last long.

Ob, The truth will set you free just means that a persons own guilt they feel for lying will go once they tell the truth.
unless you are in Politics, they teach lying to them so we all feel better and for some bizarre reason trust them.

I know someone who's always lying about his past when meeting a woman.
Eventually they find out and it's the end of the relationship because he cannot be trusted ever again.
I keep telling him he should tell the truth for once and for all...which is not really bad but is ashamed of.
That's what is meant by setting oneself free and not telling someone they're far or whatever which is bad manners.
Telling a person that, is not helping them as a matter of fact it
might depress them to even eat more.
No need to bring up somethilng the person already knows.............it can be cruel, so just
say nothing.
We all have flaws and most of us know it...........
I don't believe in lying..........tact, kindness, support,......... yes!!!!..............
