privilege
Is it right that smart people should get more privilege than dumb people? This is of course just looking at a whole in general.
smarter people are usually richer..
"a fool and his money will soon depart"
money allows you comforts
smarter people usually get better jobs
they are bosses
they are owners
they usually are good at golf
smarter people can manipulate the system better
they understand more
they live in communities with other rich...aka smarter people
they build greater networks among people of influence
smart people have power
"knowledge is power"
they can hire you
they can fire you
Okay, I can go on...and one argument would be, yeah but...everyone has the option to become intelligent.
That might be true...
but, not everyone can afford a college education
not everyone has the biological make up that accompanies intelligence
not everyone has the time
not everyone has been encourage to pursue education
....bottom line, intelligence is not for everyone.
How far should this whole fight over privilege go?
We do not live in a utopia....things are flawed...perhaps some things have no solutions.
But, I am all for humanity as a whole.

The majority are given enough to just live and provide labor...not many have the luxury of enjoying their lives....perhaps?
I often wonder. There are many...but one man in particular. He is in his 70's, owns his own construction business, and he works day and night to this day...most likely a millionaire. He plans on working to the day he dies, amassing more wealth. To me, what sense is it to have all that money and to not enjoy it? As the old saying goes, is he saving up for a million dollar funeral? Now, with that said....I do realize, to each their own. But, one could question, has he been deceived about success? It is like he is a robot....not seeing the other 'rich' qualities of life. For whatever that is worth....I am getting off subject again.
come back! you do make a lot of sense here
Lets keep it simple: what do you need to have ....money, looks, education, social status (considering everyone loves to have those things) ...luck? maybe but no one can control luck, what about intelligence? ahhhh
The thing is: intelligent people are considered lucky just for that and no one expects you have a Ferrari in your garage and don´t know how to drive it ....well, yes, they gave you that Ferrari when you were a baby and nodody teached you because we all supposed you´ll learn how to use it by yourself ....no, it doesn´t work that way.
One day, a "smart" guy sees your Ferrari and thinks "ha! idiot let me use that Ferrari for you, you are wasting your time with such a treasure covering from dust" ....or maybe one day, the owner of that Ferrari, tired of fail others expectations decides to burn that Ferrari and forget about he owns it once.....
So many possibilities as much as privileges people may have ....don´t give me the fish, teach me how to fish by myself....its all in our minds, a coctail, we shall use what we have to get what we want ...simple but I think its the only way. Doesn´t matter how much or less you have for that.
We will always have more than others ....and less than others. We have to optimize our resources and make it happen ....emotional intelligence? yes. That´s the clue, in my opinion (still trying to apply it to myself).
No, money doesn´t make anyone happy. An advantage? maybe, but also an illusion, a powerful drug which makes you believe a dream of happiness that´s not true.
Many people who are 'uneducated' [lacking a formal education] are very skilled and earn a decent wage.
Some highly intelligent people have not got emotional intelligence and are far from wealthy.
Many people who never worked a day in their lives [nor have any desire to ] live very nice lives thanks , due to our Social welfare system here in Ireland that rewards women that have numerous children by giving them a large house, benefits and most have nice up to date cars and the black economy thrives despite Facebook spies from the Dept. of Social welfare.
In general Hard work, being street wise, politically savvy at work, ambitious, does have it's financial rewards.
I think that success means different things for different people. For some it's status symbols and money, for other it's a certain place in society, reaching their goals - let that be in a job or getting married and starting a family...
I have found my place in life and I'm in a position to live my life the way I want it. I'm happy and look positively towards the future.
